Depending on what type of relationship you were in, you might enjoy being single for a while. But if/when you find a nice partner-to-be, you'll want to be in a relationship again!

Been there, done that and yes, I enjoy both, single and in a relationship.

Wow, I am sorry for the tough time you are going through.

Four years is a long time and there will be hard times when you miss him and feel lonely.

I was with a girl for nearly 2 years and she broke it off with me 4 months ago.

At first it was ok as I had loads of support and went out with friends and just blocked it out but after a month or so I had to face it and I had very low moment where I felt sorry for myself and angry at her for leaving me after all her false promises that we would be together forever.

I just let the pain come in. I shed some tears, I cursed the world and I indulged in it. After a month or two of this I am now recovered and rarely think of her.

This experience has taught me that you must always live for the moment for the now is all we ever have. There is no point in dwelling on the past. I also have learnt to accept the impermanent nature of the world, nothing is guaranteed to last forever. We must enjoy things, people, situations……while they last.

I believe the experience has also made me stronger. The brutal abandonment forced me to learn how to look after myself and rely only on myself for emotional support.

Good luck in your journey and remember we only have one life so don't waste too much time brooding. Just get out there and enjoy life to the full, keep fit, start some new hobbies (I started kickboxing, weight training and the guitar!), look after yourself and learn to love and do what you can. You cannot change the world, but you can certainly shed a bit of light in the shadows of your corner of the world.

Well, to be honest, both are kind of equal...Unless you have a hell of a good boyfriend

Being single, you don't have someone to tell you your pretty or hold you when your down(unless it's your friend, but...). But...You do have some freedom

But when you're in a relationship, you have that, but you don't have freedom...usually...and also, I no that I hate all of those little fights you get into...

I do prefer relationships though.

I prefer being in a relationship but then theres all the drama that comes with it. Sometimes its nice to be single but it does get lonely.

Well, both have it's advantages and disadvantages

Being single means you can date openly without the commitment, you don't have to be held down by one person

Being in a relationship means you have someone to cuddle with, take trips etc
