I haven't figured that out yet, the Red Sox have the 2nd highest pay roll in the MLB and they still whine about the Yankees.

They are complaining less now, because they won this year, beating the Indians in the ALCS and the Rockies in the WS with more than double the payroll of both teams, so if they start whining about the Yankees it cuts a little close to home, to any Red Sox fan who is not totally biased.
Payroll thing overall is a bit overdone, seven different teams have won the WS in the last eight years after all. The very small markets have it very tough, but many mid-markets have won.

Why would they complain about payrolls when they have two rings in the last four seasons, compared to the Yankees ZERO?
As for your 26 rings...nobody cares. All real baseball fans just laugh at fake Yankee fans like you because they mention those rings 24/7 to cover up for the fact that you still cannot win a ring even after buying every All-Star play on the market.. The real Yankee fans will admit that the Red Sox were the better team in 2007 and that is why they won the World Series.

I don't see why they would still be complaining about the Yankees payroll thiers is nearly as bad and I'm sure they know that. If someone needs to complain it would be the small market teams like the Reds and the Rockies ect. Yes please bring on a salary cap and/or more sharing of revenues by the larger market teams. I'd love to see everyone have the same chance at free agents, but with the current system the Reds will never land a top notch pitcher through free agency. They just don't have the kind of money the Yankees do to throw around at players.

Im neither a Yankee or pink Sox fan. My group is a set with between the backside payrolls interior the league. The San Diego Padres. communities like the Padres, Marlins, and others with low payrolls could desire to have the prospect to whinge however the pink Sox shouldn't. at the same time as the pink Sox have executed a reliable interest at development from interior of they could save their gamers because of the fact they have money. Small industry communities won't be able to save their reliable gamers. The pink Sox forget approximately the Jason Bay got here up as a Padre and for the Yankees Xavier Nady. at the same time as they weren't the stars of the club they contributed. pink Sox followers could desire to stop their complaining their payroll has introduced them 2 worldwide sequence titles and fairly some branch titles interior the final decade that's with reference to the comparable with the Yankees. the two communities have payed their thank you to championships

Both have high pay rolls & most fans, wether they like the Yankees, Red Sox or whatever team they cheer for, will always have something to say about their high pay rolls. Fans have always said that Steinbrenner tries to buy championships with his $$$, well how are you going to win in any sport without spending $$$. Boston went out & spent $$$ & has 2 titles in 4 years to show for it. It worked for George back in the day & they will get another title sooner than fans think

Quit living in the past. What have the Yankees done lately? Nothing, exactly. Big spending means nothing these days. By the way I'm not a Red Sox fan, I'm a White Sox fan. They have had more Championships in the past 5 years than the Yankees.

New York is the largest media market in the world and thus the Yankees are the most watched baseball team in the country. They make insane amounts of money and because of an overzealous owner by the name of Steinbrenner overspending his money to put the best players on the field, it is not hard to see why they have the largest payroll in the league. And yes, the Sox payroll is not far off from the Yankees and whoever you are hearing the whining from is probably just ignorant.

I don't see much payroll-based complaining any more -- and most of that comes from the media on slow days when they need a story. But if we're going to dance your chosen waltz, then -- why DO the Yankees spend so much?
And other questions...
Why do Yankees fans continually relive the glory days of the 20th century? Reflecting on the Olde Dayes is fun, but living there is unhealthy.
Why do Yankees fans keep on using "Red Sux" as their preferred insult attempt? Still upset over losing "1918" as a chant?
Why cannot Yankees fans come up with something, anything better than "Red Sux"? Or is that really the best they can do, the pinnacle of Yankee fandom wit?
Shock therapy is prescribed. Here, a quick review of Yankee postseason endings in the championship-bereft 21st century:
November 4, 2001, World Series Game 7
@Arizona Diamondbacks 3 - New York Yankees 2
On the latest calendar date ever to see baseball, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling duel in the desert. Soriano homers leading off the 8th to put the Yankees up, 2-1. Randy Johnson comes on in relief after pitching seven innings the night before and shuts down the Yankees, while Mariano Rivera finally falters and gives history one of the best-timed choke performances ever, allowing a single, making a throwing error, double, hit-by-pitch, and a bloop single by Luis Gonzalez over Derek Jeter to win. Yankees lose World Series.
October 5, 2002, American League Division Series Game 4
@Anaheim Angels 9 - New York Yankees 5
The Yankees bats do okay, but David Wells implodes in the bottom of the fifth, as he and two relievers allow ten hits and eight runs. After that, it's just a matter of finishing the game. Yankees lose ALDS.
October 25, 2003, World Series Game 6
Florida Marlins 2 - @New York Yankees 0
Young stud Josh Beckett goes the distance, stifling the Bombers on five hits and two walks. New York can't put anything together against his 97-mph heat. Beckett himself tags out Jorge Posada for the final out. Yankees lose World Series.
October 20, 2004, American League Championship Series Game 7
Boston Red Sox 10 - @New York Yankees 3
After taking a commanding 3 games to 0 lead in the ALCS, including a 19-8 pounding in Game 3, the Yanks commit the fold of all time by blowing four straight to the Red Sox, who fight back all the way, with a decisive Game 7 victory at Yankee Stadium. Yankees lose ALCS.
October 10, 2005, American League Division Series Game 5
@Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim 5 - New York Yankees 3
Mussina flames out, Johnson holds the line, Jeter shows virtuoso, and ARod does himself no favors, but it's not enough, and the Angels prevail in a game where the long relief pitching stars. Yankees lose ALDS.
October 7, 2006, American League Division Series Game 4
@Detroit Tigers 8 - New York Yankees 3
The Yankees have practically nothing as young ace Jeremy Bonderman goes perfect for five, finally allowing one piecemeal run in 8.1 IP. Posada homers in the ninth for pride, but between this and Rogers' Game 3 shutout performance, the Bombers make sound and fury, but signify nothing. Yankees lose ALDS.
October 8, 2007, American League Division Series Game 4
Cleveland Indians 6 - @New York Yankees 4
The Indians keep getting hits with two outs, Wang flames out, Mussina fills in, and despite three long balls, all with the bases empty, the Yankees go more quietly than it appears. The end of the era? Yankees lose ALDS.

I dont think Boston has complained about the Yankees payroll in a few years. I'm sure they used to... as well as every other team in the league. But Boston has been spending well over the league average in the past few years, to keep up with the Yankees. If they are, in fact, still bitching about it... then those whiners are stupid. But right now, New York and Boston are both dominating the payroll. That's why the other teams in the AL East have no shot. Bring on the salary cap!
