Benazir Bhutto was a convicted criminal in Switzerland, was accused of money laundering by the Spanish, was kicked out of office twice in Pakistan for massive corruption, and did a series of deals with Mussharraf which retrospectively legalised her crimes and altered the constitution to let her have a third try!
How can anyone refer to this criminal as a 'friend of democracy'?

People are so sick! How could anyone have imagined that killing her was going to improve the situation in Pakistan.
I admit when I heard she had gone back there I thought she was asking for trouble. I didn't much like her of late, but I am shocked and saddened by that news.
God help Pakistan now!

There's a difference between an assasination and an attempted assasination. Bhutto is not dead, therefore she was not assasinated. To be fair Bhutto stirred up trouble just by going to Pakistan and her actions have put alot of lives at risk. I'm not against democracy, but I think what she's doing is creating instability in a country that was relatively stable.

It is extremely bad and sad. Although many pakistanis did not agree with her views, she was at least trying to bring their country into the 21st century. This is not good news at all - personally, I liked her and her views. However, I had a feeling that once she was out of house arest and started doing her rallies, she would be assasinated - that is how these people operate.

Prime example of why the third world is hundreds of years behind the west. Total lack of respect for human life. I suppose this is a message of what Pakistan has to say about women in politics.
I remember reading about her many times over the years. I felt that she had a good strong character. And a leader.

Her father was controversially given a life sentence, her brother was assassinated and now she is too. May God's peace be directed to Pakistan! Let Love be sought in Pakistan.

The only surprise is that it took as long as it did, her card was well and truly marked ........Kamran , if your recent foray into English history is anything to go by , you would be well advised to concentrate on the engineering degree, am i right ? and give history and politics a bit of a rest .

Sh*tty Death! This is very bad, she was a great believer in Democratic rule and would have been a big stabilising influence to Pakistan and the greater region. I assume it was a religious fanatic that killed her?
The whole world is going to hell in a handcart.
