i have no problem with any kind of smoking ban - and i'm a smoker - although celticre does have a point there (above me)

It's just never been a problem for me to go into a restaurant and NOT smoke. I always smoke as soon as i get to the car though!

As far as bars go, I don't go to bars anymore, I'm 32 y.o. with children, but it would really bother me if I did. Who wants to drink and not smoke?? That's the best cigarette you can have!

btw - we don't have a national smoking ban here in the US - just select places that won't let you smoke

The smoking ban is another example of governmental thinking The are more than happy to collect the huge taxes that they take of the smokers but on the other hand want to ban smoking. A change of government may be the only way to get this ban lifted or a compromise found.. I would vote for any party what ever it was to put this issue in their agenda

I smoke, and feel the ban is immoral for this reason. Nicotine is highly addictive. It is legal, therefore many people become addicted. It's as addictive as herion. So the government(s) have allowed this stuff to be sold and have taxed it highly, therefore made a lot of money from smokers. Now, we are made to stand in the freezing cold, wind and rain to have our fix. Some, perhaps many will say, 'Well give it up then if you don't like the situation'. But didn't you hear me, it's as addictice as herion!!!! DUH...... I'ts very hard to give up!!!

I would love a smoking ban (national ban) .
To try to override a smoking ban would be going against the majority. What smoking ban are you speaking of?

I absolutely love the smoking ban. I can now go into the pub without breathing in cancerous fumes and when I have a shower, the next morning, the water doesn't turn brown! try Nicorette.

I do feel for the smokers....I come from a family of smokers but I am glad that it exists - I don't smoke and my family really smell bad and they really have no idea.
