What is this bright blue object shining in the sky?

It's about 5:30 am here. I see it in the eastern sky.

In all likelihood, yes. Venus is currently in the east-southeast portion of the sky, and it is bright.

Venus, not Mars. She said the MORNING in So. Cal.

That would be Mars, it's planetary oribit is closest to ours at this particular time.
