All you have to do is unplugged first your laptop. Check your battery by accessing its positive and negative terminals using a multimeter selector select to DC voltage and take note the stamp-out or voltage rating of the battery, so that choose a slightly higher voltage in your multimeter to avoid damage. You will check the terminal voltage and if the voltage indicated on your multimeter is less than 30% of the battery voltage rating, you should try to recharge your laptop battery for a whole 24 hours to probably restore the terminal voltage to about 95% of the battery specified terminal voltage rating ( you can find the terminal voltage rating on the body of the battery). However if after checking again after a 24hour re-charging, the battery didn't indicate a terminal voltage of about 95% of the specified terminal voltage. Then its time to replace your battery pack. One try, remove the battery and just power up your laptop with the battery charger if it work the battery is almost due for replacement. good luck

Could be that the battery is very low, plug in the charger, but do not turn on the computer and let it charge for about 5 hours and then try it.
