I think my computer is a goner, currently at my brother's for my annual visit (he lives ten miles away and I only visit him once a year ... and you lot thought I was nice ......)

I am trying to find time to log on at libraries but the local one (just over the road, two minutes' walk) has just closed its doors for the last time for a year. I now have to face a twenty minute walk to the next nearest or go to the central library in the town centre where they allow you an hour per session.

I know this is longwinded but c'mon, I'm elflaeda!. Just wanted you all to know that I'm alright.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, you deserve it, and that 2008 is good to you.

I was a little premature this morning. My brother worked hard to repair the tower and he got it working. I'm back online at home.

First off, I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and will have the happiest New Year!!
I'm sorry your computer is on the fritz. Perhaps it could be fixed for a reasonable price. Usually they will give you a diagnostic test for free.
The libraries really don't try hard enough to be computer accessible. They limit your time and have the most unusual hours during the holidays!!!
We'll all miss you but I'll still watch for you each and everyday!!!
I'm long winded too, I think it's an age thing. Once I hit 40 the longwindedness just took over.

Hey, Elflaeda - where've ya been? I'm sure I'm not the only one to have missed you. Hope all's well with you. How's the diet coming along? Allow yourself a little leeway over the holidays and then get back on track. Hope it will make a big difference to your health and morale in the coming year (there's nothing more morale boosting than being able to buy a smaller size in clothes, is there?). Anyway, I hope 2008 will be a great year for you ... who knows, it might well be life-changing! All best wishes coming your way from Dolores (and the prune).

I understand your dilemna and know how difficult it can be. I usually have to go all the way downtown in Chicago, Illinois, to the main Harold Washington Public Library, for computer use. This can be quite time consuming, just taking the elevated train all the way down there. I enjoy Yahoo Answers and like exchanging questions and answers.

I wish for you and your loved ones, a most prosperous, healthy, God-endowed, Happy New Year. P E A C E!!!

Yes, you may. (There. I've answered the question, so you're not violating Community Guidelines and neither am I.)

And have a great one yourself. Here's hoping you get your own computer, either fixed or replaced, very soon. Withdrawal can be very uncomfortable.

Answer - Yes you may.
Retort - I hope you had a lovely Christmas too.
I'm so glad you've got your computer back.
It's probably been awful for you having to talk to people, read books, and listen to music while it was broken.
