He threatens me and I really wan to thump him in the ear! I was taught to turn the other cheek ect.

Now I think I have found a loophole in the bible Acts 20:35
'It is more blessed to give than to receive"
I think it gives me the okay to thump him before he thumps me.

Tell me what you think about it

Ha ha ha. So you'll GIVE him a thumping instead of receiving one. Love the logic, but no. If he actually is threatening you, tell your boss. If that doesn't work, get a lawyer (how christian is that, I know). It's against the law to be harrassed at work.

lol.

Well you don't have to be a fool, You can confront him settle the issue. By doing this you are acting in accordance with the bible. As it states confront the person first, if that does not solve the issue, take a witness and see if that solves the issue. Although this is for persons in the congregation, it can be helpful in dealing with people of the world.

I think that the flesh battles against the spirit so that you are tempted to do those things that you know you should not (Galatians 5). When Jesus taught about "turning the other cheek" He wasn't saying that you couldn't defend your self against a physical assault, but it sounds like your co-worker hasn't taken it to that level. What you need to do in that case is what the Bible teaches and don't try to find "loopholes".

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 45 so that you may prove to be sons of your Father in heaven; because He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

i think that if a co-worker is threatening you, your next step is to talk with your boss. threatening a co-worker is against the law.

if it continues, then you may have to move up the chain of command at work or contact a federal agency. no one has the right to threaten you at work.

only punch him in the head to defend yourself. if you do anything to him, you will be the one in the wrong.

I think your religious values need not come in the way of your dealing with your mundane issues in the practical manner. You need to act in your self defence. Whether you have to punch him or take up with the legal authorities to protect yourself against him, is a matter of detail ,which you have to decide yourself. Jesus said, " Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and give unto god that which is God's."

You need to pray about this person and ask God to give you the love and patience to deal with him. Satan will always put someone in our lives to drive us crazy and to fall into anger. I pray everyday before I go to work because of some co- workers and it helps me because I know that God is with me.

Forget your Christian values, and think of values period.

Any religion will tell you it is wrong to harm others. Even I, a non-religious person, would tell you that it is unreasonable.

HOWEVER, since the guy is threatening you, maybe you should do him a favor and yourself a favor and put him in his place. What is worse than evil itself is the good men who stand by and do nothing about it. Does that apply to you?
