I've recently applied for compensation through something that happened many years ago (historical event) and thank goodness, it was delt with a few weeks ago and the court found the person guilty and give the person 5 years.. anyway, ive been asked by the court to apply for compensation and was just wondering exactly how long roughly it takes for the sum to come through.

I can't speak for other jurisdictions or states, however, my own state has what is referred to as the "Victims Compensation Fund."

Contact your local District Attorneys Office and they will be able to advise you on the methods of obtaining your restitution and how long the process takes!

/ Go to your local courthouse and speak with the States Attorney Office.
