Homes in New York City and Los Angeles are incredibly expensive. You'll find them 5 to 10 times more expensive than homes in "fly over" country. For a modest home you can figure on $600,000, minimum, in New York City and/or Los Angeles.

The easiest way to immigrate to the United States is to have a family member already here.

If you have no family here marriage to an American citizen is the second easiest way.

Baring family and marriage, you might qualify for a work visa if you have a college degree and job skills that are in demand with a shortage of US workers.

If you were to become an accomplished actor in your own country you might be able to qualify for a special visa issued to those with extraordinary talents.

New York and Los Angeles are a lot different
I live in NY and i know a lot of people from Los Angeles and they have a different state of mind. But i can tell you this, time here flies, before you know it, its already the end of the year again.

And oh yeah! homes are very expensive, expecialy in NYC
eventhough there's been a decrease in real estate, the prces are still very high.

The best way to become legal here is probably to marry and american citizen, and you both have to be in love because if youre just doing it to become legal you can probably get into a lo of trouble.

And if you're looking to become an actor you better be something really special.

Forget acting unless you want to be out of work nine months of the year. And forget housing in NYC or LA.... two of the most expensive in the entire country. Your best bet for housing would be in the Southern states, and you could get a work visa through an employer. So, the first thing to do is to find an American employer. Do you have a degree?

You should ask your Consulate the questions about becoming a citizen of the USA. Unfortunately you cannot work as an actor in the USA without a green card.

You picked probably the two most expensive places in the whole country to live. You will need roommates galore to live there, especially if you're trying to break into acting.
