Hello, In the past few years I have only been using shampoo in the shower, I use it for my hair, both on my head and down there, and I use it on the rest of my body, I shower often so not dirty or anything but I never use a sponge or regular hand soap. Do I need to start washing my body with some soap?

I use a body gel all over. However, shampoos would be perfectly fine to be used all over; too. I have tried using both the shampoo and the body wash. Soap can be very drying . It causes the scum to accummulate both in the shower stall or bathtub and your body. Body gel or wash is the greatest invention. It makes my skin -feels silky And a little bit goes a long way.

Soap are supposed to clean better because they don't have a neutral pH Balance, and it's better at cleaning oils that build up on the skin.
Shampoo, on the other hand, is supposed to be more gentle to prevent your hair being damaged. People do't tend to use shampoos on their body because it's more expensive than soap. Soaps like Dove are generally gentler on the skin than average soaps but most people use bodywashes if they want to use products that aren't skin irrritating.

I think it's fine that you're using shampoo to wash but you might want to think about using a sponge or body puff just to make sure it lathers enough to clean.

I use shampoo as well. Sometimes when the weather is dry I even use conditioner. Conditioner is also a great way to soften the hair before shaving. I actually believe that shampoo is less drying for my skin than regular soap.

some men like to keep everything simple, like you :)

so i'm suggesting that you should look for 2-in-1 wash that is for the body and the hair! i know the body shop carries one, i love the kistina (i think that's the spelling) scent.... so manly!

so you don't have to worry about shampoo or soap anymore

p.s: btw, i'm assumming you're a male?

I think that you should start with some soap. because soap for bodywash is what it is made for. Shampoo is for the hair and i don't think it would really do anything.

thats good that you shower often for not using soap though
i suggest some deodorant soap for men. then you can smell yourself cleaner.

I've never used soap either and just use shampoo, and I've never had any problems, I just don't like the feel of soap for some reason...

Its not good idea to use Shampoo for body.

If you are very particular abt soap..i would suggest you to try liquid soap. a body wash..

Definately sounds like an allergic reaction. There are many harmful chemicals in personal care, laundry and cleaning supplies. I never knew it until about 6 years ago. We switched to non-caustic products and our lives have been changed. My daughter had severe reactions and I had mild reactions and now we have none. You need to eliminate the bad and then also build up your immune system with health eating.
