Have you tried a chiropractor? I highly recommend you find one. Your back is likely off alignment from the stress of the last trimester of your pregnancy and labor.

If you see a regular doctor, he will just fill you up with pain killers which will mask the reason for the pain, rather than treat the reason you are having this pain.

I only hope you take some of these answers with a grain of salt.
In the first place you have to find out what's wrong. The doctor would order tests as one suggested. If these show a normal pattern then he would go further and order MRI's and maybe after that or, instead, CAT's scans with dye.
He would then probably send you to a orthopedic surgeon for further analysis. You would be give an alternative of choices after finding out what's wrong but, you have to start somewhere.

Rushing into a chiropractors office or, an acupuncturist is jumping ahead of the problem and, skipping some much needed information and procedures.

what a doctor normally does is to run some tests... the doctor may subject you to urinalysis to see if there is something wrong with your kidneys and other parts inside, x-ray of the spine, lumbar area, etc..., if these will not help her/him diagnose your trouble, the doctor may ask you to have a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of your back area (whew! expensive)... S/he may also ask you to undergo physical theraphy. S/He may also advise you to take medications like strong pain relievers like tramadol or Arcoxia and the like... (you may need a prescription for these pain relievers..) S/He may also require you to were sacro-lumbar support or make you wear back brace or worst, may you undergo operation (as a last resort... I hope this is not one of the options s/he will offer...)

First you should try acupuncture and if that doesn't work and the is really hurting and/or getting worse you should consider an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or CT scan to see if you have a slipped disk or something similar. Your GP should be able to refer you and make arrangements.
