That is so hard to say. If it does, it will most certainly start by a pre-emptive strike with India nuking Pakistan out of tactical necessity.
Another way a large scale nuclear conflict would break out is if someone in the middle-east with the wrong motives got ther hands on the right weapon(s) and used it/them against Israel. Israel can guarantee any country in the middle-east a total wipeout in under an hour. They have bunkers for almost every citizen and a world class second strike program, that would ensure annihilation of their enemies. Not to mention their new intercontinental ballistic missile defense system courtesy of the good ole US of A.
I will say this, weapons are built to be used and triggers are engineered to be pulled. I am sure somewhere way off in the ether if man does not destroy himself in some other asinine way, then someone will eventually use them.
If the Pakistan/India or Israel scenario never plays out, then I would say when we are nearing the end of Earth's natural resources and fighting for control of what's left (already happening on a small scale) some country at some point will feel that is the only tactical decision left, and that will kick it off. Hopefully we will have disarmed these countries by then. Hopefully we will all be holding hands and singing Kumbaya well before then too!

Yes I think there will be
We had the war to end all wars 1914-1918 We still have wars
The bomb was meant to be a detterent, It has not worked every country that has the bomb has been involved in conflict
Do I think the US would launch against the Russia or vice versa (almost typed USSR there, not much difference with Putin around) No I do not
Do I think a country like Iran would supply terrorists with Uranium ect to build a bomb to be used against the west, or isreal yes I would.
Remember that the Western Nuclear powers the USA, UK and France have always said that if anyone uses a Nuke or aids anyone to use a Nuke they would respond likewise (hence the word detterent).
I think the question is not if it will happen but when it will happen and how far will it spread.

"I knew someone would mention WW2.
No it doesn't. It was one-sided and nobody else had the bomb to retaliate."
World War 2 was still nuclear. That no one had a bomb to retaliate with is irrelevant, just as it would be if the 'enemy' had nuclear capability but had been annihilated before getting a chance to use it. Nuclear bombs were deployed and detonated as an act of war during wartime in WW2, and that's what counts. Logically and militarily, WW2 was a nuclear war.
Otherwise, one might equally argue that shooting an unarmed man was not a gun crime, as he didn't have a gun to shoot back with.

The question is are we the people of this planet ever going to allow a nuclear war ?! Yes, No or don't know !
Well let's look at some data :
There are two types of nuclear bombs in general;
1) Fission Bombs:
Like the Hiroshima bomb A.K. A "Little Boy" , with an efficiency of only about 1.5% , had a 14.5 Kiloton Yield equal to 14,500 tons of TNT ??!! It instantly, killed and vaporized over 100,000 people ??!!!
Or the Nagasaki bomb A.K.A "Fat Man", efficincy 17% with 23 Kiloton yield ?! 80,000 people parrished !?
2) Fusion Bombs :
you know the nuclear reaction (Fusion) that makes the sun, shine take place in the core. Now the temperature is
27 Million degrees Fahrenheit. When a Fusion bomb or H bomb detonates the heat it produces is 600 million degrees Fahrenheit?
look sun 27,000,000>>>> H Bomb 600,000,000
it vaporizes every thing in about 100 miles radius ??
I don't want any part on such madness and horror ! Niether does any one in the right mind ?! Do you ??!!
Best Regards.

If a human being can strap a bomb to himself and then explode in the middle of a crowd, then we must consider that anything is possible to occur in the human mind!
No government will start a nuclear war, but a small conflict could trigger a lager scale conventional war which in turn could escalate into one.
If your cause can not be won, then maybe it is best to go down all guns blazing!
War brings with it madness and unclear thought.
Anything could happen, I can only hope that it never does!

Unfortunately I believe there will. Money buys anything these days if you had enough you could buy the knowledge to create a war. Take the people who train suicide bombers combine that with a multi million pound organisation and you could orchestrate a nuclear war.
There are some extremly wealthy people (I mean billions) on the planet it only takes one
For example what would happen if a terrorist group blew up a newclear establisment in the UK killing 10's of thousands of people how would a British goverment react with it's history..........and that would be the start.

there will certainly be an incident where some idiot from one of the unstable country's that have them, actually fires a missile off at another country. (Israel seems the most likely candidate to receive a strike) but i hope!! 'once the devastation has been realised' the world will wake up and move toward getting rid of nuclear weapons. there is no way that any! government of any!! country should have that much power over others. especially since we seem to be moving into a strange 'crook / mafia style of government all over the world. most of the worlds government's are lying to the people and have very obvious hidden agenda's. these are dangerous times.

It could well happen if one of the small oil based country's gets pushed to far,
The larger nuclear powers will always sabra rattle, but pull back for fear of worlds end,
My fear is that an Islamic force will get their hands on the buttons, and set up maybe Israel v Palestine, Turkey v Africa
S.Arabia v Iran, It don't take a genius to work out the
repercussions.
It will happen. The question is When.

The chances of a nuclear war are almost zero, for no Government or country would want to destroy itself. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) is the deterrent that prevents nuclear war from happening.
Nuclear weapons have been used in agression, as tactical weapons, against Japan in WW2, it brought a swift end to the conflict in the Pacific. Nuclear weapons can only be used as Tactical weapons or as a deterrent. All other uses are out of the question.

It's already a done deal.... Iraq is totally polluted with depleted uranium that won't go away for thousands of years....
By firing radioactive ammunition, the U.S., U.K., and Israel may have triggered a nuclear holocaust in the Middle East that, over time, will prove deadlier than the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan.
So much ammunition containing depleted uranium(DU) has been fired, asserts nuclear authority Leuren Moret, "The genetic future of the Iraqi people for the most part, is destroyed."
"More than ten times the amount of radiation released during atmospheric testing (of nuclear bombs) has been released from depleted uranium weaponry since 1991," Moret writes, including radioactive ammunition fired by Israeli troops in Palestine.
