yes... BUT peroxide (the chemical responsible for the lightening effect) is EXTREMELY damaging to hair. So by the same token, the longer you leave blonde dye in, the more your hair is damaged!

if you try to go more than a few shades lighter, your hair will feel like straw... it will break and frizz... not attractive. I would have it done professionally if you insist on going from dark to blonde. A pro can deep condition and keep dye from setting too long.

It's not true. It actually causes more harm to your scalp and hair. That will cause hair damage and scalp itchness. Kindly follow the instrutions on the hair dye package

Blonde dye, no.
Hair bleach, yes.

But don't leave it in for ages. Follow the directions.
If you leave it in for too long your hair will just break off.
