You mean a CULT.
Occult means something secret or hidden.
CULT means a group of people who follow one person's ideas and call it a religion.
And yes, Scientology is a cult. But most religions start that way. It just depends on how long they last. But I personally can't see the concept of humanity being created by aliens and robots... *rolls eyes* Some people just like Sci-Fi too much.

Good question. I had to look up "cult" to see exactly what it is. For all the definitions given by Webster - yes, it is a cult. So is almost everything else when people group together under a common idea or banner.
What is your point?
