Is there a subtle mixture of both resurrection and reincarnation in the Bible?

I'm sorry you got a thumbs down Jazzy J. I don't give thumbs down to people often. Actually, very rarely, and I'm sure I didn't to you.

Anyways, this idea isn't very new. It's been said that the writers of the New Testament incorporated a lot of what other religions at that time had to offer.

I presume you are speaking about Revelation 21:1.

The word "New" in the original text is the Greek word "keinos" meaning "void" or "unused." This does not imply reincarnation but simply refers to a time in the future where the physical universe will return to it's original state of being void by an anknown and undisclosed means of destruction.

Even modern science will admit that the finite universe has a limit and will one day plunge into total chaos. It is unclear as to when and how the biblical rendition of this will take place but from a Christian point of view it will all happen when God intervenes in man's self destruction and will himself speed up this process by destroying His creation which will no longer serve a purpose as mankind will come to a destructive end destroying the earth along with himself.

Thus a new creation will take place of which no indication is given.

Because there will be...after the 1000 years of peace reigns on Earth, the new heaven and new hell will be made in a "merger" of the old.
No reincarnation...just resurrection.
The Great White Throne judgment will precede this.

Not a new concept at all.
And about to be a reality. At least the start of it.

Reincarnation was part of the various versions of Christianity. The possibility is at least intimated in John 9 in regards to the Blind Man. 'Who sinned?' it is asked. Was it the sin of the Blind Man or his parents that made him 'born blind'?. Did this refer to a past life sin by the man who would be born blind in a later life?

Even the great Church Father, Origen, accepted some type of reincarnation schema. Reincarnation was not officially outlawed along with Origen's works/ideas until about 6th Century AD under an edict of the Emperor Justinian.

To my understanding of the bible, and I have been SDA Christian all my life, the story of The Resurrection is in a different part of The Bible than the writings of what happens when the end comes.
"Every eye will see and every ear will hear" Jesus. Coming from the clouds with his angels.
I don't know how that is physically possible, and I will openly admit that, but that's where Faith comes in. Jesus had 12 disciples when he was a man on Earth. One of them, Thomas, doubted that Jesus had risen from his Crucifiction. So Jesus appeared to him and said "Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believe".
As a SDA Christian, I believe that and take refuge in that.
A new Heaven will be created on Earth. We do not believe in a "hell", but the burning part will happen to those Evil. It also states that in the end times, Army Generals (I'm in no way meaning to stereotype Army Generals) and such will make a plan to destroy God. But this destroys them and they will burn. Then they will be destroyed. No burning forever "In Hell".
Then Jesus will come down and make a "New Jerusalem" On this earth.
It is as simple as, if you believe in God, you will go to Heaven. The "New heaven" refers to a changed earth, and "Heaven" refers to the place where God is watching over us from.
If you don't, to be honest I'm not sure. To my understanding, you are classed as "evil". But those who have not heard the word, babies and people in iscolated areas, etc, Will be judged (both fair and just) based on living a healthy and moral life.
I'm sorry I'm on a rave, but you asked.

i believe that everything will be changed in an incredible way no one will recognize that the resulting Heaven & Earth are the old ones they had before.

sort of the way you reformat a hard disk. everything corrupted will be erased and something totally new will replace the old. it's all there in Revelation Ch. 21.

thanks for your question. i've got another interesting one here if you may please provide a nugget or your Wisdom:

Do the cherubs, seraphs and other Divinities have a religion?

Not exactly.

The Scripture that you are speaking of is letting us know that after all the evil is destroyed and put in its place of punishment for all eternity there will be a new Heaven that will never know what it was like to have evil among it and the same goes for the new earth there will be no evil to taint it.

Think of it like this, if you were going to buy a new pair of shoes . . . why would you wear dirty socks and old shoe strings?

You would want clean socks, and new shoe strings as well!

God will start a new with His flock of clean white lambs.

God Bless You

Because God is going to make a new heaven and a new earth. When resurrected we will live on the new earth (like the Garden of Eden) like we were supposed to before Adam & Eve sinned and messed it up.

I don't see any reincarnation in that.

I just loved the way when I responded to your previous question (which funnily enough was about the Bible) I got a few thumbs down, so I thought I'd have another go.

Nothing like annoying the unthinking religious (as opposed to the thinking religious, of course).

It's possible. Believe what you want man. These so called "Christians" believe whatever they want. They ignore parts of the Bible that they don't feel are relevant or apply to them.

The bible is just a way of scarring people into being good.
