I was raised in the Church of Christ growing up and even though I don't attend now because of varying reasons, it was from this foundation that I became the Bible believing christian that I am today. In this church I was raised by loving individuals who were concerned for my best interests and those of my fellow children's home brothers and sisters. The Childrens home was entirely funded by the Church of Christ members who sponsered kids from all over the great state of Texas so that they would have a safe secure environment to thrive in...check it ( http://www.christshaven.org/index.php ). I left there in 1985 and now live in Alaska with my husband and two children. Had it not been for the christians willing to part with their money, open their homes as encouraged by their pastors....then my fate would have been at the hands of a state institution or worse...I would have been left where I was at...a violent, negligent, loud, filthy, chaotic hell hole where at the age of nine I was not enrolled in school, being fed regularly and was forced to help my mother clean hotel rooms just so we could have some where to live. Luckily someone reported us...me, my brother and my nephew and niece belonging to my sister who was only 15 and unable to care for her babies. I prolly would have grown up very soon at the age of 12 getting pregnant like my older sister, hooked on drugs, prostituting and living a homeless person under a viaduct somewhere...that was her fate because she wasn't rescued by benevolent persons. Oh she's fine now...she got help later in life by some other faith based organization. So, when you see Christians crying in church it could be for several reasons...perhaps its a mother who looks over at her two beautiful babies and realizes that by the grace of God she is blessed to be a good mother who loves her children or perhaps another is caught up in the fact that we are all looked out for by a benevolent and loving God who puts the love for mankind in our hearts..enough to write those lyrical salutes of praise and worship or perhaps we are misty, weepy and mournful because of all the lost souls of people out there who just don't get it and who scorn, scoff and mock faith systems of every kind because they won't try to understand. Who knows...I hope no one does report you. Or anyone else who asks questions like these cuz that's just another oppertunity for persons like me to talk to you and tell you that Jesus loves you just as much. Tears at church have nothing to do with giving...not unless its tears of joy at having so much to give. Love in Christ, ~J~

You seem to be speaking about the Catholic Church only. Why is that ? I can't remember ever crying at Mass .After all, it is a celebration.
