I think you speak for "some" Christians and you are stereotyping.
I wish you well.

You are right. You certainly do need help. In more ways than one I'd say. If you truly want to be a Christian you need to get out of the Laws of the Old Testament and follow the teachings of Christ in the New Testament. Quote some of His teachings which apply to Christians. The Apostle Paul and some of the other early leaders of the church spoke against those that tried to interject the Law into Christianity,so you can breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have to be concerned with those things,if you ever were. While you are poring over the New Testament try not to misconstrue the many good things that will help you to grow, because some people aren't as sincere as you are.

A true student of the Bible knows that Paul was writing sacred letters to the Church concerning details of how to live holy. But also it is important to note that some of his instructions had to do with the immediate problems that were situational and not in order of sin. For instance having come from a Jewish background, Paul set up the churches with men on one side and women on the other and sometimes wives would holler across to their husbands for clarification on some things. This was obviously disruptive. Also women were encouraged to honor their husbands, is there something wrong with that? As far as Christians cherry picking, we should all be striving to live reasonable, peaceful lives. If we have a problem we at least agree that it is OUR problem but God is correct in His instruction. The first law of a recovering addict, first you have to admit you have a problem before you can be helped.

Atheists all follow what you believe? Christians is pretty broad term, As usual we have to hand hold you when I know you've heard it a million times but you are a child...of God. In the old testament there was the law we no longer live under the law but Grace and mercy A gift from God through his son Jesus Christ. It is agreed that allot of Christians throw scripture at people, some is necessary most is not you wont listen irregardless Bible states to dust are feet off a go where people have not heard the gospel as you have! My thoughts are I pray for you you have been blinded by a lie and wont listen to truth when presented, read the old testament read the new what are your conclusions then ask that you don't understand. He who truly seeks shall truly find!

A lot of the things found in the Bible regarding laws were specifically for the people of that culture and of that time period. Most of the things regarding women being less than were put into effect by men. In the pagan cultures women were held in regard and their power was recognized. Recent evidence suggests that Jesus recognized this as well. But when it was time for Constantine to make his very political decision to convert all of the people to Christianity, it was seen that the process would be much easier if the women were stripped of this power and respect, and Christ's view on women was manipulated and twisted. Over the years people have begun to recognize these things.
I was raised in a Christian church and this very hypocrisy that you refer to and the attitude towards women pushed me out of the church for good and away from Christ himself for many, many years. There are men and women alike who still choose to hold up the "laws" regarding women and the church out of ignorance and the only thing that any of us can offer them is knowledge of the truth and our sympathy that they have been brainwashed so severely.
It is their choice, however, as to whether or not they accept this, and we can only hope and pray that their children truly get Christ's message and can break this cycle of misinterpretation, corruption, and greed that goes on daily in the name of Christ.
For now, the best thing to say is come on now, it is 2007. These wives are free and encouraged to go out and earn a living to make as much or more than thier husbands to help him be able to pay the bills, while their children sit in daycare, and that is perfectly acceptable, yet they are not regarded as smart enough or pure enough to teach God's word...make sense? Nope.

Those brothers/sisters are misled in their reading and I encourage them to read more thoroughly.
There is a HUGE difference in fulfilling the Law, and abolishing it. Jesus did not come to abolish the law.
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Best I can tell, it Heaven and Earth have not passed away! God's laws are written on our hearts....
2 Corinthians 3:2=3
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
The laws that Jesus fulfilled were the Levitical cermonial laws. We don't have to eat certain foods, don't have to sacrifice animals, and so forth. God's moral laws are still in tact. Many will elude to this...
Col. 2:14-16
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Notice the "handwriting of ordinances". That is the Levitical cermonial laws only. The 10 Commandments were written with God's own finger and given to Moses. The are still intact, even the Sabbath. The sabbaths spoken of above, are those other than the Friday night through Saturday afternoon sabbaths. Those are the sabbath festivals and such. God still requires us to observe each and every one of the 10 commandments.
As far as the "quiet and covering heads", I would suggest reading Corinthians where that took place and see just what Paul was trying to get across here. It is not as it seems.
As for homosexuals.....it was an abomination as written in the Old Testament, it is still an abomination in the New Testament, because God does not change.

Christians don't treat the Bible as a list of do's and don'ts. We try to understand the underlying foundational principles. Love God and then love your neighbor. The Golden Rule. Love mercy, do that which is just and walk humbly with your God.
Many of the Old Testament rules are obviously only for the Jews.

This is really strange that I ran across your remark about "women are not to speak in church" I am a woman and I believe what this says is to be done just as the bible tells us.This means a women is not to preach or hold a position in church such as a preacher, deacon or elder, she can pray, prophesy, sing. Because God created order in everything He did, He created Adam first, then Eve. God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of the church and man, man is the head of woman and this means in the order of respect.
Also, women should cover their head when praying or prophesying this is to show respect, this is not a command of man or a church religion it is a command of God. Also, some people you call Christian and aren't doing everything the bible teaches, some are what are called baby Christians, they haven't gotten all the knowledge yet what God is instructing to them, then you have some that call theirselves Christians and know that they are not. Then most of the Christians is having to get all the wrong messgaes that have been put in their head from men that was not lead of God to teach, as they taught a lot of wrong things, which leaves them still learning what God wants of them as Christians. Theres alot of truth to a sign that said, "Be patience with me, God isn't finished with me yet." and please keep this in mind
no Christian is perfect, if we were we wouldn't need God.

Jesus founded a church. Not a bible.
Jesus gave power and authority to the church. Not the bible.
The authentic new covenant, universal church is the sole governing authority for Christians on the earth. Not the bible.
The church has always had the power to make laws or to repeal them, and to give grace, or withhold it.
In the case of homosexual activity, the church has always maintained that while being homosexual is not sinful, acting on those seriously disordered impulses certainly is.
That said, we are now saved by grace, and not by ANY law, but true contrition for sin, as well as authentic repentence has always typically been required as a condition for forgiveness.
The time for repentance is now.

Answer: First of all, You are using the title Christians incorrectly because there are athiests and every other sort of Heathern Devil worshipers who claim to be Christians and are liars and followers of their father the Devil.
Matthew 7:14-16 (King James Version)
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Acts 20:28-30 (King James Version)
28Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Christians, can you still consider the Bible to be your moral guide when you don't follow it's laws?
Whenever the laws in the bible is mentioned, Christians immediately brush the issue beside by saying Jesus already fulfilled all the laws and therefore they're not bounded to them. But at the same time, Christians never fail throw "cherry-picked" verses out of context and throw them at anyone who passes by. Christians also claim that their bible is their ultimate moral guide. But since Christians aren't bounded to any of the laws, how can it be considered as a moral guide?
For example, Christians are quick to disregard verses such as this, "Women must be quiet and cover their heads in church for it is shameful.....". But at the same time they will throw verses such as this at any unfortunate victim, "Homosexuals are an abomination to God"(I can really feel the morality in this verse among others).
What are your thoughts on this?
Answer: The devil goes about as a roaring lion seeing whom he may devour. The Devil is a liar and the father of it.

I am not a Christian but I have seen this behavior as well. However I have noticed that those that exhinit this behavior, that the laws do not apply to them but do apply to everyone else.
When I question them on this, I will hear, "Well, I am a Christian and I will be forgiven."
Now this is not the behavior of all the Christians that I have met. A majority of do follow the teachings. It is just the small percentage that do not that make everyone else look bad.
