I called a coworker and heard some disturbing sounds in the background so I said "what's that?" and he told me that he's in the loo doing number 2.
So i hanged up and threw away my cupcake.

Actually, it doesn't sound like a plop... more like firecrackers. ^_^

With cell phones everybody is in deed available anywhere at anytime. And no, one shouldn't answer the phone while on the toilet. I hold it like this: if I would have the caller with me in person in a prticular situation then I also answer the phone. But as I wouldn't invite anyone to join me in the bathroom while taking a dump I also wouldn't answer the phone then.
BTW my cell phone was ringing twice while I was in the middle of the pushing stage when giving birth to my daughter, obviously I didn't take those two calls....

The only acceptable excuse for answering the phone while "taking a dump" is if it is a call of a very urgent nature that you were expecting. Almost anyone or anything else can wait the few minutes it takes to finish.

Some people when they get on the phone they have no shut up sense. They yack and yack and you don't want to be rude to them so you try to pee or dookie while they are talking. You sound like you have never heard anyone poop. Get over it' we all do it. Maybe you should have asked "are you busy" Then you are letting him off of the hook so he can say "Yes' can i call you back later". If you had of asked maybe you would have not heard the plop.

I think it depends. If you have caller ID, and you know the person very well, and you know that they could care less what you are doing when you answer, then go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn't answer the phone while taking a dump or a pee.

let the phone ring these days not many of us have time to spend a few minutes alone so being alone in the loo with no distruptions is all good.
ditto with the cupcake lol

No, you should not share that time with anyone. Take a message or check caller ID and call them back!

He should have said, "dude I'll call you back in a couple minutes," finished his business, and called you back.
