I live in Dallas and have seen how in the last ten years how immigrants (legal and illegal) have depressed wages for unskilled americans. Aren't those the people the democrats once cared about. They have decimated the opportunities for blacks. Plus they eat up health care services for the uninsured and other social programs. Don't say they pay taxes too since studies show a family needs to make nearly $40k before they pay more in taxes than they consume in government programs. Education has been dumbed down too since it takes more money and time to teach non-english students. The new immigrants are also socially conservative. Being a gay guy I notice more evil looks from spanish speakers than from citizens. Plus they keep increasing the population growth in the US, the world's greatest per capita greenhouse polluter. Seems they hurt everything democrats stand for like narrowing the income gap, to better social services, to education, to the enviroment. So why the big support??

Its a fricken joke that our government cares more for the rights of a bunch of people who shouldn't even be here in the first place. Why can't America be for Americans of more than three generations of citizenship? I am so sick to my stomach that this country is being flushed down the toilet because illegals and terrorists are coming here to exploit this country rather than embrace it.

This is a contrived BS republican issue!!! These people have been coming in doing the manual labor jobs since the 60's. Ronald Reagan signed a immagration , watch the borders bill in the 80's then did nothing to enforce it, The republicans took over the house in 94, and for 6 years tried to blame any immagration problem on Clinton, then they took the white house, the senate and the house for the last 7 years and have done absolutley nothing about the problem, then about a year ago, they decide it is the biggest problem we got, and try to blame it on the dems, THEY WERE IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS AND IT IS THE DEMOCRATS FAULT!!! They are insulting peoples intellegence if they expect them to buy that!!!

there are some valid points in your cause, but you haven't made any mentioned any. Don't forget that Republicans too, love our friends from the south. It makes for cheap labor for agri-industries and service industries. Additionally, why do you think the Fed is bailing out a bunch of banks who should be bankrupt for lending irresponsibly to illegals?

Both the Dem's and Repubs' do. Repubs' just want to go even easier on those employers that illegally hire them. Dem's want us to believe it's for a better life, and they do the "jobs" that Americans won't.

Employers only have to claim a work force shortage without having to actually prove it.

Dem have never made issue about the level of immigration to the US every year. Dems r for opportunities for every one in this country and protecting the weak.

Because the Dems can't win honestly and need the illegals support to keep them in office.

the Dems support them because they want their vote, plain and simple. That and they dont really care about what is really going on in America.

Future votes. They legalize these people, then those people become US citizens who will vote for whoever gave them their "papers".
