Her real name is Tila Nguyen, but she was born Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen in Singapore. Her family had emigrated from Vietnam after the Vietnam War. When Nguyen was one she and her family moved to Alief, a suburb of Houston, where they lived until they were admitted to a gated community run by a strict Buddhist temple. The family left the community when Nguyen was eight.
I think that perhaps her "bisexuality" wasn't genuine. Perhaps she was more bi curious and the producers asked her to pick one guy and one girl for the finale, to boost ratings.
Anyway, she's not exactly role model material and I think that anyone who would claim to "fall in love" with someone like that needs to examine their lives.

I think the whole show is a fluke. She pick the dude but then runs off saying she still loves Dani??? Plus the girl is under 5 feet and weighs under 100 lbs with huge breasts... not a great attraction.

And when she was a teen, she wasn't really close to her parents, I assume since she says she was "abandoned".

Edit: The difference between her show and the VH1 shows (even though MTV and VH1 are sister networks) is that she actually STAYED with the person she chose and isn't having a stupid second season.
