John 17: 24
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Eph. 1: 4
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Rev. 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Rev. 13: 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
1 Pet. 1: 20
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Hello wisdom - Amen.
"But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
While running the wrong way and literally his enemy, He died for me.
That is very good news...Praise the Lord!
EDIT:
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Luke 18:10-14
Even though there may have been some truth in the comment posted about someone here "sinking into hell," that was not the right spirit in which to give it.
Please reconsider the power of influence your words have. It is that kind of attitude that gives followers of Christ a bad name and further emboldens those who are against God in continuing their defiance of Him and His amazing love.
Watch unto prayer, saints. :)

Romans 4
4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 "Blessed are they
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man
whose sin the Lord will never count against him."
Jesus died so that we might live. He is the friend of sinners.

Yes, what greater love than a brother lay down his life for you. But not only that God himself and with the benefit of receiving eternal life. How arrogant are we to think that we have it made. Christ paid it all. No one deserves what he has done for us some just take it for granted

Did you know that Jesus wasn't the first fictional god-man who "died for us?"

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm
[Excerpt]
ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS
No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.
Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.
Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Yes. I used to believe I deserved eternal torment because Eve ate an bit of fruit (and because I told fibs at times). Then I realized that kind of god would be a tyrant who didn't deserve worship.
Eventually I got better and stopped believing in any gods at all.

I know that. I also know that the Big Bad Wolf disguised himself as an old woman, Jack climbed a giant beanstalk, Cinderella lost her shoe, etc..
I just don't believe in it.

To "wisdom": YES
To "Xerxes K": I wonder how proud you'll be when you die and meet Jesus THE LORD face to Face and see Him sitting upon His royal, heavenly Throne? Yeah... you'll be really proud as you sink into hell.
