Um, Vick got 23 months - and nobody gets 3 months for "a DUI" it would be DUI's.
Torturing dogs is much more sinister than getting caught with a DUI - now DUI with accident or injuries is another matter.
Mike Vick knew what he was doing was wrong, but since he's been treated as untouchable from the law (as many professional athletes do) he thought he'd go free - and how about those so called 'Friends' - no honor among thieves - dumb bastard, way to piss away $130 million
And lets not forget it was a FEDERAL CRIME he was convicted of, not local

it would depend on the details of the DUI arrest. was anyone injured or and accident involved? was it the first offense? did you co-operate with the arresting officer or were you belligerent
the mike vick punishment was more severe because it was a prolonged 4or 5 year dog fighting/ gambling operation and it crossed state lines. that involved the cruelty and killing of 60 + dogs.
vick's penalty would have been much less probably only 12- 18 months but he was stupid and failed a marijuana test after he plead guilty that cost him another 6 months
you people saying his penalty was too much comparing a dog's life to a human's. vick was responsible for the crulety and deaths of 50-60 dogs and he got 2 years. if he killed 1 person he would be facing 10- 20 years or even life depending upon the circumstances. you people are the ones who need to get your thinking straight

FYI Mike Vick received WAY more than 4 months in jail. Additionally, he pleaded guilty, so he could or received more!

I THINK THE VICK CASE, ONLY SAYS HE ALLOWED DOG FIGHTING ON PROPERTY AND DOGS WERE BURIED THERE?
I DO NOT THINK VICK WAS CHARGED WITH ANYTHING ABOUT BURYING DOGS HIMSELF OTHER THEN HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACTS OF WHAT TOOK PLACE AND HIDING THOSE FACTS?
MOST DUIS FOR A 3RD OR 4TH TIME, CAN GET PRISON TIME.
AFTER BEING A HABITUAL DUI OFFENDER.
HAD ONE IN PRISON FOR 17TH DUI GET LIFE WITH OUT PAROLE?

I agree there are several pro-athletes in the USA who have killed people in alcohol related accidents.
I hate to say it, their just dogs people. Yes it was sick. But, the backlash for the loss of pets compared to the loss of human life is deplorable.

I know its crazy....animal crimes are punished harsher than human crimes that have the ability to kill someone. We also had animal cruelty laws before we had domestic violence laws. DUI needs to be much more severe....
Can't tell you why that is so man.
O and I think he got 18 months.

Its because he is a celebrity, and also because animal abuse laws were just started this decade so therefor probably not very strongly prosecuted yet
