An interesting question, and easily answered in a descriptive way:
New Zealand is a lot like Wales, and living there feels a bit like being in the UK. It has a distinctly European feel to it, and is lush, green, windy, rainy, and full of visuals reminiscent of Europe. It reminds me a lot of France, Switzerland, and Northern Italy, but always with that British touch. The mentality is open, quick-witted, socially conscious, and dynamic. Superficiality and self-aggrandizement are frowned upon. Kiwis love being busy as hell, and always are, which contributes to an atmosphere reminiscent of cartoons at times, because everything here is so very colourful and fast-moving. If you believe in exercise and "work above everything", NZ may be for you.
Australia reverberates its own vibes very strongly, and there is no mistaking it for any other country. Big, warm, and subtly exotic, are probably the three best key words here. Life there has a different tune, seems mellow and confident. "Hedonistic" may be a good term to describe it, actually. When I visualize Australia, I see big, blue skies, and borderline alien fauna and flora, I feel the warmth permeate everything, I smell hot rocks, and I hear the sound of big V8 engines. I am very intrigued by it, because I love dignity and depth, and I believe Australia has a lot of it. Having said that, I also believe Australia to possess a rough side NZ doesn't really have.

Well I was born in Australia and moved to New Zealand when I was 5. Since then I've lived between both countries and recently become a New Zealand citizen. I like Australian weather better than New Zealand's, but I prefer NZ.

It would be kinda like living in New Zealand or Australia.
Your question is so broad, and both countries are very different.
Why not pick a city in one of the two countries to ask about ?
eg: Sydney or Christchurch - vastly different places affording vastly different life chances and life styles.

I was born and live in Australia and it is an awesome country to live in, the beaches and the weather is great here. I also travelled to NZ recently for 2 weeks and i think it is beautiful, i would like to live there.

LOL what kinda question is that....... it all depends on what you're into.
some of the coolest people on earth but since all these immigration waves from developing countries, it's not so cool and safe anymore as it used to be
like australia... there are 7 different states.. if you asked which one is the best, I'd say Queensland or Victoria. personally ,I like WA and ACT.
if you asked bout NZ, there are south and north island- one country but two different places and different living on them so......

It is great living in Australia it is what I call fail safe living even if you stuff up there are things in place to help you ~~

I lived in Australia for 20 years and it is not so bad if you
like beaches and hot weather.
Just remember to tell everyone that it is the best country in
the world and you will be OK.
