Yes, the things you wrote are in the OT.

But, when Christ died on the cross those laws were nailed with Him. We are not beholden to them any longer. (Ga 4:5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.)

That's why at the time Christ gave up the Spirit and died, the curtain in the Temple of the Lord tore in half signifying that the laws of Moses are no longer needed in order to bring us to Salvation. (Mt 27:51)

And there aren't that many Christians, their path is narrow. But, there are many false Christians their path is wide!

God Bless You!

The bible was written like a ages ago. Things have changed. Matters that were relevant then are not so anymore. For example the bible doesn't cater for problems like AIDS and contraception. With time we have to adapt. Women are not burdens anymore like they used to be neither are they considered only as reproduction machines. Christianity is a very complex and beautiful religion still various parts are kept under the veil and that God only knows why.

Perhaps made up in the minds of uneducated men thousands of years ago?

Then propelled over the centuries by groupthink, fearmongering, ignorance and hysteria. Yes you are right.

The most amazing thing is how intellectually crippled people are by it today

Duh, you're supposed to gloss over those parts. Just praise Jesus, pretend to love your neighbour and turn the other cheek if it doesn't cost you too much.

Besdies, you assume the bible is read by Christians. Don't you know the bible was written to recruit atheists? Only atheists have read it cover to cover - hence their atheism... Christians don't read the bible. They watch Seventh Heaven and gain their knowledge from there.

To those who cannot understand it I am sure it must sound crazy.
As far as it being controlling it is a book of laws, God's laws, on how man is suppose to live.
Keep reading it and pray for understanding.

Jesus is Lord

Can you imagine what we would still have to do today if God didn't send His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for our sins?

This is the exact reason why Jesus Christ died on the cross.
If it wasn't for HIM,
we'd all be getting stoned, burned, having to sacrifice animals and give burnt offerings, etc.

God wants us to have a loving relationship with Him.
He wants us sinners to re-establish ourselves with Him.
Can you imagine the LOVE HE HAS for us sinners?
Could you sacrifice your son or daughter?
I know I couldn't.
How can you deny His love?
