I know it used to be $10000 cash (per person/vehicle?). What is it at right now, and whats the process if your bringing more cash?

You can bring as much as you want. However if it is over $10,000, you need to declare it and fill in the paperwork.

Well....you buy yourself a nice fur coat and say it is for the Mrs. or a lovely lady, then you cut it open and suff the money in it but not in rolls, individual bills then sow it back up and cross your fingers. Make sure you have your best pair of running shoes just incase it doesn't work. If you don't want to do that, make yourself a bank account or purchase a creditcard and put the money on it. The 10,000 dollar rule came from the Good Old IRS, The Federal Reserve Note, Is a Private Note of Debt my friends.
So when you paly with their Money, Your subject to their laws also. Canada Doesnt care what your bringing as long as its not guns and ammo :) He He so ahve fun and watch out for the new rules in Canada using the FED NOTES.
in a Bank in Canada over 1,000 us dollars they have reporting rules since good old (9/11 ) The Bastards get ya again :) Be Wise tho, LP

You need to declare large sums of money at the border and have proof of where it came from.
Don't know the current limits ( I think still $10,000) but Homeland Securities or CBSA websites should have them.

It's still only $10K. If you bring more, you have to file forms with the IRS (and pay the higher taxes on it).

Same thing happens if you win that much in Vegas. Or if you try to deposit more than that amount of cash into the bank.

has not changed, you need to declare it if you have more than that on your person.
