I am a US citizen traveling from china back to Chicago via LAX. I am a little confused about what will happen at the airports. I know I go through customs in LA but then where do I go to recheck in to go to chicago or how does that all work?

You take collect your baggage at the baggage claim, go through custom, and there should be a sign that lets you check your baggage back in.
The baggage would already have been tagged for the final destination.
You then proceed to the terminal, and can collect your baggage a 2nd time when you arrive in Chicago.

I work at LAX. When you go thru customs you will have your bags. Then recheck them for your next flight. If you let me know which two airlines you are using I can help you more. kingsleydr60@yahoo.com
