where someone basicly reiterates what the bible says?

If you know how to read then you shouldn't need to go to church, unless the bible isnt 100% true and chruches are used to brainwash peopel to believe a certain way.

Your question assumes that going to church is only about hearing the Bible. There are many things going on in a worship service in addition to hearing someone explain God's word.

Christians are a family and want to be together. I can eat a meal anywhere, but I prefer to eat the meal with family. I can read the Bible anywhere, but it is nice to celebrate with the entire community. A flaw in humans is the inability to relate to one another, people tend to be self contained and self-centered. Christ has broken down the barriers between all classes, races, etc. and called us to love one another. Why would people not WANT to be together to celebrate such an uncommon reality.

God has promised to be present where people are gathered in the name of Jesus. God has called his people to gather together and seeks to bless them.

In a book club or social group, it is fun and more productive to do things together. People have much they can learn from each other. How much more a group that will be spending eternity together? More importantly - ALL are invited. I'd like to be a part of it.

God commands us to meet together as the Church. Our purpose is to worship God and encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25
The Church is the Family of God. Many people think of the Church as a building, but it is really the people inside of the structure. To be a Christian means you are part of the Family of God. Other Christians are your new brothers and sisters in the faith. There are no "Lone Ranger" or "Free Agent" Christians. Jesus established a "Community of Believers".
Jesus loves the Church and died for the Church. Ephesians 5:25
The Church and Jesus are inseparable! You cannot say, "Jesus Yes, and Church No". How can you separate the head from a body and still have life? In Ephesians 5:23 the Bible says Christ is the Head of the Church, which is His Body.
In Acts 2:47 the Bible says that when you become a Christian, you become a part of the Church.

We go to church because it is biblical. We are not to forsake the fellowship of other believers. They are our support group. Worship together is awesome, and I often imagine Heaven when we will all be singing to the Lord around His throne!!!

You need to find a good Bible believing church that is teaching from the Bible.

Read it for yourself as well, so you will not be deceived!

If the Bible is 100% true, and it said you need fellowship with other believers, then it would be true that you need fellowship with other believers.

Also, if your math or science text were 100% true, and you could read, you would not need to go to classes to have experienced mathematicians and scientists explain and demonstrate how all the principles in the book actually work in real life. Oh, you do need explanation? Then so do we. It is only fair.

If the bible is 100% true, then:
one of the commandments in the bible is to keep the Sabath holy, with the implication that you do so by going to the temple and worshiping God. So it naturally follows that if the bible is 100% true then you are obligated to go to Church.

That's like saying that, after learning to read in the first grade, you don't need to go to school anymore. After all, whatever else you need to learn, you can learn by reading the stuff, yourself.

Church is a place for fellowship (schmoozing with friends), a place to gather in agreement in prayer (Jesus encouraged - in the Bible, matter of fact -) people to gather together in His name for fellowship, for helping each other, and for praying together. The teaching from the Bible helps those who are younger in their relationship with Jesus to understand tougher parts.

Also, being in church affords the opportunity for believers to share how God has been teaching them individually from the Bible. By sharing what we are learning, we find we are learning the same things and can encourage each other.

I challenge all Christians to prove Christ's love to us Agnostics and Atheist, by acting on the red-letters of your bible, rather then the sin of those letters(absence of), or the black letters.

If you are truly a disciple of Chrst, then those that condemn us heathens and love the church-goer gots it backwards. Look to your gospels.

Christ loved the Heathen, Pagan, etc... the only people he condemned was most of the people that may be likely found in your church. How did Bono of U2, put it.....Inside are the prisioners outside the free, set them free...?

That is unless, your not up for Jesus Christ's true-challenge on your lives?

Because people would become lazy and undisciplined if they just chose to read the bible only when they feel like it. Spirtual growth also involves things like worship and prayer, not just mechanically reading the bible like it's a manual. why would you need to go to or participate in class when you can just read the textbook.
