Just as today's cars are based on the first automobile, the Jesus character was based on older fictional god-man characters.

I don't believe there is a consensus on Jesus.

Some believe he is God or a savior.

Some believe he was some kind of prophet or more evolved soul.

Some believe he was a man in history whose life has been grossly exaggerated over the years.

Some believe him to be a fictional character-- nothing more than a myth perpetuated through the ages.

I've even heard some people believe he was the anti-christ.

All of nature screams of the Deity of Jesus Christ.

The people in the world on the other hand Some say he is the Son of God, others say God in Human form, even others say He is a fictional character or a good teacher or prophet.

I don't know what the world says about Jesus Christ, but everytime I look at Him, everytime I hear about Him, I feel His compassion in me, melting my heart with His love...

All hail Jesus, The master of mercy....

Some people have never heard about Jesus and know nothing about Him. Some have heard of Him but reject Him. Some have heard of Him but don't regard Him as God. Some have heard of Him and know who He is and what He did. They know that He is the Son of God that came to earth, accepted our sins, died to forgive our sins, making us pure and able to go to Heaven. There is a great deal of history and proof of Jesus existence in early mid eastern history, the Islamic religion and especially in Christianity-the Bible, and countless Christian books, articles, ministers, and people of faith.

That will always be a controversy. He is a fantasy man, a myth. He is God. He was a wise teacher who taught compassion. There may be other postulations as well. But like Jesus is reported to have said, speaking of Himself, "Who do you say that I am?"

Most of the world seems to say he was some itinerant preacher from 2000 years ago who was turned into a legendary figure. IMHO, the simpler explanation is that he was originally a fictional character, and was then turned into a mythical figure.

Trinitarians say Jesus is God. But, that is not a Scriptural belief. According to the Bible, Jesus is God's Son. It is because of Trinitarians that Christianity is ridiculed by non-Christians.

Jesus himself said, "the Father is GREATER than I am" in the book of John. I am a Christian and yet I do not believe in the Trinity because it is false.
