Be careful. Most people have some of their family in them. It's unlikey that your boyfriend has escaped their grouchy rude ways. He might be on his best behavior right now.

Feel sorry for them if they are mostly rude and grouchy. They must be quite unhappy people.
The best way to deal with such folks, is to smile and be the opposite of them. Be happy, interested and smile, smile, smile. When grouchy people meet smiley people, they don't know how to react. i.,e. If they come grouchy, say
"It is so good to see you. Come on in. How are you today.
Here, sit down. etc. etc. You may even be able to turn them around the first time. If you act like this every time you see them they will eventually have to smile back or stop visiting you.
May I offer you a little bit of advice. I am the mother of six adults and I have told my three daughters this same thing when they were growing up.
Usually, the son or daughter, follows the ways of the family.
If his family is grouchy and rude, I think you had better be careful regarding your relationship with your bf. Listen for signs that he could be the same way in the future. You don't want to end up in a serious relationship, which will turn into a miserable experience. Doesn't it sound reasonable that if all his family are this way, then there must be some of that in him.
Peace and love,

first of all i'd have to say try not to put yourself in that situation if you can, but if you can't help it. put on a big grin (even if it is fake) and be as nice and sweet as sugar. i work in customer service and i've seen alot of rude and grouchy people in my time and that usually works. oh, and also don't let their rudeness and grouchyness get to you.

Don't put yourself in the situation of being around them or at least keep it to a minimum.
Tell your boyfriend you love him, NOT his family...
