Eh, not really either one. The Air Force would easily control the sky and the sea anywhere near their bases. The Marines wouldn't be able to attack Air Force bases on islands or isolated areas, etc.......but you cannot take ground and hold it without boots on the ground. A small group of Air Force personnel with rifles and a whole bunch with pistols? Not the kind of odds I would want to take against Marines who last I checked have a pretty decent array of firepower.
Now, if the USMC and USAF were on the same side in the war, then nobody could defeat them.

It depends on a lot of different things, but I would say the Air Force. The fleet of F-22's and B-2's could handle the job, not to mention the few hundred F-15's (never been shot down in battle) the few hundred F-16's, and the tankers keeping them airborne. B-2's could stay up indeffinetely, as it's a 2 man crew and they can refuel in the air, one man could sleep while one controls the plane and just keep switching off, so they wouldn't have to come down. No USMC aircraft is capable of defeating the F-22, and the Air Force has over 120 of them.
So, I would definitely go with the Air Force.

Hypothetically speaking, will the poster of this question "Hypothetically speaking, if the U.S.M.C. and the U.S.A.F. went into war, who would win?" ever get any intelligence, or even understand the functions and jobs of the two military forces mentioned.
The above units are in the REAL WORLD restricted to the weapons they have and not "whatever weapons they need."
Your question has been dragged into the realms of fantasy at this stage.

My father was in the Air Force, and I love him, and he is dead. He served this country with honor and pride. And all the men in my family are likewise the same and were in the Marines, Army, Navy and the Coast Guard. How dare you put this BS in any military face. You are ridiculous and do not deserve to be here.
They are at war. Where have you been? And from what I hear, they don't have the weaponry that they need to fight this war either, they need to be brought home. We need a president that thinks more for the country and its military for the sake of our country. We can fight this war from home.
If you are talking about pitting them against each other, don't even try it. We are a family unit, all four branches and the Coast Guard. Hoorah!

Marines have grunts, air force has nukes, army would kick all of your butts. hooah. no seriously, this question cant be answered as such, because the armed forces support each other. Planes can land alright, on a us naval carrier. they need at no point to touch actual ground. Marines are tough, but how far are you guys going to swim??

i find this to be a disrespectful question. What so many people forget its that we are the USAF, USMC, USARMY, USN, get with the damn program, they all have US in front, they all fight for the same person. The AF kicks *** b\c we have the marines there to help on the ground, the marines kick *** b\c they have the AF clearing the way! WE ALL FIGHT THE SAME PPL

actualy the air force has pjs security forces and csar and tac p so we do have ground troops when i was security forces a lot of people were also rangers tac ps and counter snipers but security forces and af spec ops are a very small unit compaired to usmc

US Air Force used atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. it ended the war. USMC may be tougher but USAF has got the technology and air power. USAF wins.
