There is no God.

lol.. Nine thumbs down, and counting..
Nice :)

Anyway, I asked a question similar to yours on a different account. I asked... "If God is real, why would he allow innocent children to be raped & have millions of children in Africa starve?"

And I got an AMAZING answer.
From: Pat G

This is a tough question, but not insoluble. God give us free will. He did that because He wants our love. If our love is forced, it's not love at all. We are just robots. So in order for us to be able to love Him, we also have to have the capacity to hate Him. Free will also means that we have to be able to act on the material world, and our actions have to have consequences. If we act, and nothing happens, we don't really have free will, because our exercise of our free will doesn't accomplish anything. So God has provided that when we act on the world, something actually happens. If we commit evil, then someone will suffer. Thus, WE are responsible for the evil we cause, and not God, because He left that decision up to us.

Your question is written in such a way that you are assuming that God is righteous and loving, and that assumption is correct. So did God make a provision for injustice to be made right? Yes, He did. Sometimes that doesn't happen until after death, however. If a child is raped or starved, God may only heal that child in heaven. But God WILL make it right in His own timing. In the meantime, He has given us the privilege of helping to make things right in this life. We actually have the ability to rescue a child from starvation, or to love a child who has been raped, and God allows us to exercise that ability and right a grave wrong. So if we don't rescue the child, it is due to our failure to act, and is not God's fault. If, on the other hand, the child actually dies, then there is the afterlife, and God in His mercy will allow the child to live with Him. Since He knows whether the child will go to heaven, He also will protect a child who doesn't yet know Him but would accept Him if he did know. The Bible doesn't actually say this, but I would have to infer this from what the Bible DOES say, and from what I know about God, that He is loving and righteous, and He will make sure there is perfect justice.

If a Christian says to you that everything happens for a reason, there is an IMPLICATION that God wanted it that way. I don't agree with that point of view. I think God has two kinds of will. He has His sovereign will, and He has His permissive will. His sovereign will means that the thing He wants WILL happen. But His permissive will means that He will allow something to happen that He may not agree with. This is where free will and our capacity to love and to hate comes in.

We have flash floods in our area when there are monsoon rains. The rain will dump a bunch of water on the ground, and some of the water will run off and collect in the rivers and arroyos. Before this happens, they are dry. A person can drive his car into an arroyo, and suddenly a big wall of water rushes down. The car can be swept away, and the driver can be killed. We all know of other natural disasters. In each case, there is the possibility someone will be saved from the disaster. Some people die and some are saved. I think that sometimes God intervenes and protects someone. I also trust that God, Who has perfect knowledge of the outcome of everything, makes sure that what happens is within the scope of His will. If something happens for a reason, the reason may be that someone committed a grave evil. It does NOT necessarily mean God wanted it that way, and that everything happens because God purposes it that way. But I do not believe that there are any coincidences. God DOES act where appropriate, and we are guaranteed that in the end, perfect justice WILL be done, and that God will extend His mercy to everyone who accepts Him or will, or would if given the opportunity. Since we lack His infinite knowledge, sometimes things don't make sense to us, but those of us who will spend eternity in heaven will learn all the answers someday.

I saw your comment that you are an atheist. I'll just make a couple of comments to that point. Atheism is a faith that God does NOT exist. If you don't want to have blind faith, be an agnostic, and keep searching. The existence of our beautiful universe, and its complexity, is because God made it. So we have concrete evidence God does exist. If someone tells you, well, consider the theory of evolution, and if you study enough, you will see that the evidence doesn't support the theory of evolution. The beautifully designed universe cannot happen by chance, and the more you learn about it, if you have an open mind, the more you realize that.

Oh, one more thing. Obviously you as an individual cannot rescue all the children of the world, but collectively, we can rescue a great many. So do your part. The Jews have a saying that if you save one child, it's as if you saved the world. Take that to heart, do your part to help one child, or two children, and the rest of us will do the same, and in the end, we will have a significant impact.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a private note.

Poverty is politically motivated. Ask Bob Geldof. It's not for lack of trying by Christians, but we can only do so much.

This question has always been predicated on a false premise, that is, that God is the ruler of the earth. He is not, the devil is in charge. So if God is all-powerful, why doesn't He do anything to stop the evil? That is also an assumption that God has no choice in the matter. He chooses to back off and let the world go its way via its free will to choose, and take unto Himself those that choose Him despite the evil around them. It's not like this is the end of the story, there remains a day when God will cast all evil into a dimensional plane that is called "outer darkness".

Jesus told a parable regarding the sowing of tares (fruitless weeds) amongst wheat. When they first germinate, tares look just like wheat, so it is incredibly difficult to weed them out. Fortunately, once tares mature (near harvest) they turn black. In the last days, there will be a chasm between those with fruit and those that do not. One group will be harvested and winnowed, the other will be cast into the fire for consumption.
Consider, however, that the wheat still requires winnowing to remove chaff from the grain. That too is happening.

Evil is necessary for free choice to be a reality. You can choose which side you wish to be on. And in reality, that is what you are seeing today. People choosing their sides. Again I will say that this world does not belong to God. Satan is the god of this world. So, give credit where credit is due.

Luke 4:5
Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”

1 John 5:19
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

But one day soon, that will all change when Satan is cast out as the usurper he is.
Revelation 11:15
There were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

...and the healing will begin.
Revelation 22:2
The leaves of the tree [of life] were for the healing of the nations.

Maybe because the really needy people are keeping 'him' busy answering their prayers for new electronic toys, cars, acceptance to a good school, a better job, and other really much more important things than just enough food to stay alive.

Because the African government confiscates all food donated to help those who are hungry(and they allow boatloads of food to rot in their harbors). Please notice we never have heard of an African government official dying of starvation. Africa is a very rich nation and the continue to treat their people as slaves and pay a slave wage.
