I don't see Tony winning any more championships. I don't think his heart is in it enough to put forth the effort required.
I guess I struck some nerves with this answer. Tony is a great driver and he can win any race he enters. The Toyota cars will be fine. Tony is emotional, he can get fired up and win just about any race. He wins on emotion and in my opinion he hasn't shown the ability to keep his emotions up for a 36 race season for the past couple of years. Time will tell.

Maybe, it's too early to tell. Toyota is a LONG way from being where they need to be in NASCAR. My prediction is that after a few years of watching HMS and RCR teams have most all the success, Stewart will have had enough of the mediocre success with the Toyota's and jump ship for RCR. The reason that Chevrolet has been so dominant for damn near ever is that they have had the best teams, drivers, and support personnel, along with experience. BTW, Pontiac and Chevrolet are both from GM-yes, different makes, same company. The one thing going for Toyota is that they can pretty much start from scratch with the COT, where some others are still thinking about the same car that they have had for so long. I would hate to see Smoke get stuck in a car that hindered his success. He isn't my favorite driver, but I do respect him immensely. I like it when a driver will tell you what is on his mind, instead of the answer that NASCAR is looking for. Oh well, only time will tell-can't wait for February!

If he is ever going to win another championship its sure not going to be this year I can tell you that. For one, he is driving a Toyota and we all know how well they performed last year. Two, he has Kyle Busch as a teammate, go figure, and yes Kyle is a minature version of Kyle but people actually like Tony, and no one really likes Kyle at all, or at least I dont. Third, I dont see them performing well because I still dont think that they know all they need to know about the COT, and I think that they have very little knowledge on it because they only made a few of the COT races. Fourth, I think that with them using the COT full time it will make it easier on them, but I still think other teams are definitely farther along in the testing process and experimentation of the car, and the different setups that can be run, like Hendrick Motorsports, and RCR. I think that Toyota still has alot of catching up to do before they can compete with Hendrick, RCR, Roush, and the other teams.

If anyone can win a championship in a Toyota it will be Tony Stewart. It doesn't matter what Tony drives he is a great driver no matter what name is on the front of the car. I think Gibbs Racing is the best thing for Toyota just give him time.

Absolutely. He won a championship driving a pontiac`, he won another driving a Chevy, and he will win another driving a Toyota. With the car of tomorrow, all the cars are all on the same playing field. The only real noticable difference is the grill. One of the biggest reasons Toyota didnt fair so well last year was the drivers that represented them. Come on, A.J. Allmindinger, Mikey, poor old DJ, Dave Blaney, Brian vickers. Are these championship drivers? They couldnt win championships before, and they cany win them now. Toyoya has the money to give JG Racing everything he needs to win. Toyota already dominated the truck series, and they will dominate the Cup as well. Money talkw and BS walks.

Tony has the ability to win in which ever type car he drives. With the Toyota backing and the resources of Joe Gibbs Racing he has the potential to take the championship in "08,but each car that starts the Daytona 500 has the same goal.
But this could be the breakout year for Toyota with the talent at Joe Gibbs.
So yes Tony could win the 2008 in a Toyota.

He can win a title driving a Toyota...but not in 08.
I think Toyota needs about 2 or 3 more years before they will compete for any championship in Cup. Tony is a great driver, always capable of winning, but you need great equipment also and Toyota, although great at making cars, is not up to par with the other manufacturers competing at the Cup level....yet...

With its massive resources, Toyota will eventually make a huge commitment to win a NASCAR title.
Could that title happen in 2008 with Tony Stewart? Why not?

Pontiac and Chevrolet are both GM cars. Toyota is still relatively new. Tony couldn't win a title in a Chevrolet, why would he contradict himself by winning in a Toyota? I think Tony needs to learn how it "should be" from Kyle Busch. I would be surprised if he matched his three wins from the 2007 season. My answer would have to be "no".

I don't think any driver could win a Cup title in a Toyota. The Toyota's are good in the truck series but they don't have the same power under the hood in the cars.

Yes! Tony can win the championship in a Toyota. Tony ran well in 07 and was a chase contender. Tony had some bad luck this past season, and some of it was his own fault. But if Michael Waltrip can finish 10th at Talladega in the Toyota COT, then Tony Stewart can certainly win the championship in one.
I guess a lot depends on how well the 48 team is at cheating again. Chad's been busted 2 years in a row, and I believe he's gotten very good an hiding his tracks.
