Because they are embarresed and do not know how to tactfully deal with the situation so they deny there is anything wrong. Speak with them without the child present when you can address it. good Luck

I think that some parents have challenging children and are at their wit's end. They know that their kid is wrong but they don't know how to get the bad behavior in question to stop. Some other parents don't have it as tough with their kids and assume that other parents' kids can get control of their kids bad behavior. Sort of like "If I can get my kids to behave well then all other parents should be able to do the same with their kids." In real life it doesn't really work that way. Some kids are just challenging from the start and their parents feel overwhelmed.

Parents don't ALWAYS do this, don't make blanket statements like this. Some parents don't have to see their children as perfect. When my children do something wrong, they are responsible for making up for it.

"Always" is a pretty strong word.
When my daughter is wrong she's made to deal with the consequences that go with it...whether she likes it or not.
Some parents just don't feel like their child should take the responsibility, I guess.

Not all parents do. I think parents that want their children to grow up to be mature and responsible adults, don't do this.

Ignorance.
They can't/won't believe their child has done wrong, and when shown proof will just blame it on another child or something similar.
They believe their child is a perfect, little, angel.
