Ok. Contact your congressman. here's the link, and all you need is your zip code.
Just saying "I believe he was in the navy" is rather vague, as probably millions of others have been in the navy. But don't give up,
Ask other members of your family what they can tell you about him. WAS he in the navy for sure,, during what dates, etc. this would all help you, and your congressman. Does he , or anyone, have any papers from his time in the military??
Your man in Washington will be glad to help you, but the more info you can provide, the faster you'll get a reply.
Good luck.

Talk to the rest of your family. I'm sure someone knows something they can tell you. Also the key you are looking for is called 'caps-lock'. It will be on the left side of your keyboard probably right next to the letter A.

Get online and start searching veterans sites, using his name. He could even be listed in military census records, etc on Ancestry.com

well I went to
vet.org.com
filled out a couple of forms and on Valentines day received my dad's WWII record.
YOu have to click on few buttons to get there, but it was well worth it, for me.
