Hello,
NO
Taken in moderation it will not hurt and will help calm a person down.
As you must know the US is very against this kind of research. So you are going to have to take the word of medical patients, which I am one of.
There are over 200 different strains of marijuana. If the person would get a good mellow kind (afghani, California gold for instance), it is better then any happy pill out on the market today.
Never, ever buy off the streets!!
It works real well for seizures too, in moderation. Do not over due it! Heck I take it as a medicine and take a hole lot less then those who use it for entertainment purposes! And far from a "stoner".
If one goes over board and takes to much it will mess with your heart rate, and make things worse. There is something called taking to much of anything.
The only document I read and found about anything to do with marijuana and mental health is a report done on the synthetic marijuana called Marinol.
This report was found in the marijuana archives. It was reported this fake stuff cause hallucination's, and schizophrenia behavior. The real stuff there is no reports of it doing these things and even us who take it to calm ourselves. That fake stuff is nasty!! Stay away from it.
If you want to talk more email, leave a email where I can send you reports and such, I have them saved on computer. I would be more then happy to do this for you.
Anxiety is not a recognized medical condition in our state as of yet to get state legal. Migraines and seizures are, and many other conditions. Get legal if you can.
Marijuana is being more excepted as a medicine and less as a illegal destroyer drug or the false claims as a "gateway" .
drug.
There was a report done in Europe listing the top ten most dangerous drugs and marijuana was not even on the list, though alcohol was on the top five.
More and more people are learning that the government has been lying to us all this time about marijuana. Allowing the pharmaceutical drug companies to make millions on the hurt and dying.
The federal governmet is still growing marijuana in there facilities. Handing it out to the few federally license medical marijuana patents. Bush Sr. when in office put a stop to more of these federal patients. Though more and more states are seeing the benefits to MMJ.
Hope this helps...

I've truly been that way for the past fifteen years. Through the looking glass you know? I can tell you that I wouldn't be at all concerned in your position. As far as where I'm sitting it seems ludicrous for you to think you have a brain tumor. But, yes that's something I've gone through for quite a while now, which amplifies my anxiety a thousand fold. When I was first given the suggestion to meditate I thought it was absolutely foolish, but I took it and made it something of my own. My way of meditating is to focus on something I find really pleasant, that usually helps me. The trouble is, finding that something, it has to be really special to you. I hope this helped you some, but if it didn't, don't worry, you don't need any help. You're perfectly healthy.

Yes, it can definitely amplify your anxiety. I have been going through this for the past 3 weeks. Marijuana will increase your heart rate and can further worsen an already occurring anxiety attack. Do not listen to that guy who said it will decrease your heart rate, that is a flat out lie. Marijuana can increase your heart rate by up to 50% !
The best advice I can give you is to calm down, breathe steadily, and think positively. The feeling of "impending doom" is just a feeling. You are not going to die! You really should stop smoking if you are experiencing these symptoms.

Yes.Marijuana can affect the areas of the brain that play a part in response to stress, motivation, and reward.Heavy users are more likely to report symptoms of depression than nonusers. They can also feel more anxiety, have more personality disturbances, and are at an increased risk of developing schizophrenia, a severe form of mental illness.

Without a doubt. I had to stop smoking it for that reason! Marijuana tends to have this effect more and more as you get older. Not everyone has this problem, but I definitely did. I had anxiety issues before I used marijuana at all, so I'm sure that played a role in it.

it affect different people differently. people who are already nervous tend to get more so on weed. it helps other people relax. its not illegal everywhere btw. even in the us, where it is illegal, there are places where it is decriminalized to the point that it is not a big deal. in colorado it's just a $50 ticket. In alaska i think its even less. i think its a good thing for certain people while other people should probably avoid it. its almost always better than alcohol!

Marijuana is a potent narcotic, it has all sorts of detrimental chemical effects and reactions in the nuerons that make up your brain, the reason it can enhance anxiety is probably because it chemically stimulates that area of the brain, enhancing all the effects associated with that portion of the brain, one of which could be anxiety
the answer is, yes, it can and probably will enhance anxious thoughts, but thats the least of your concerns if you smoke marijuana, research shows that marijuana can actually trigger necrosis (death) in brain cells, which can negatively impact cognitive (thinking) ability

I would think so, consider the paranoia some experience after smoking marijuana. I really can not see this as a pleasant experience to someone who is already suffering from anxiety or depression.
