Have you ever thought "Wow, why am I believing in an idea that I honestly have no way of confirming?"

Of course. If I thought I knew all the answers to everything, and therefore anything that I didn't believe had to be false, then I'd be pretty stupid.
Hell, fewer than a couple thousand years ago people didn't believe the world was round. They didn't believe that the sun was the center of the solar system.
Didn't make it any less true, though.

yes i have, its been like that forever. ive always been able to see things from other peoples opinions and beliefs. is it a good thing? id say no at the moment. its gotten me into a huge never ending fight with my 3 best friends because one is twisted, one is closed minded and doesnt see that shes twisted, and the other agrees with me that she is twisted(along with a large portion of my school)
but on the other hand, i do love to open my mind to all the wonderous possibilities. i think thats what helps me draw. its like seeing a whole new side of what is thought and seen. its like leaving what really is or what you think really is and discovering something completely different and looking at it in a new way. its almost what makes life worth living.

I have thought that often and tread lightly on the beliefs of others, looking for evidence to either support or refute my beliefs.
As a result I constantly seek additional data on lots of topics from metaphysics to which glue and which joint are the strongest for raised panel doors. The world is such a fascinating place and you run across amazing and amusing people.

If I truly, without a doubt know something isn't true, why would I think it might be? I'm positive 2 and 2 are 4. You can make any argument you want, but I will know that I'm right. Now, if your talking more subjective, you would be silly not to listen to all sides.

I am open minded. I am willing to consider all possibilities. I am willing to examine any evidence that supports the existence of any gods.
Do not confuse my open mindedness with having a hole in my head such that my brain falls out. I will examine the evidence and weed out the alleged evidence that is not objective, verifiable, or validatable.

I believe in science so if something can be proven than it must be true.
But i also alow my mind to be open to other possibilities as well. Whether things are true or not. who knows. But there is always the possibility.

Yes, I do it all the time. I think opening my mind has given me a better dose of reality. You can't just pretend the things you don't want to believe in, don't exist.
If your beliefs are solid, they will be unwavering even in the presence of other beliefs.

I think my belief or disbelief in anything has 0.00000 effect on the universe. It is only what I think with my limited brain power.
And, I have felt very comfortable having an open mind but, as Carl Sagan once said, "not so open that my brains fall out."

I have often thought this. I will listen to any cogent argument simply because I love diversity of opinion, and to learn. Greater understanding has always been the result. Even if someone cannot persuade me to accept his position, I gain understanding of how and what he thinks. This puts us in a better position to dialog and reach compromises....or even to amicably agree to disagree.
