Not to consider anyone lesser than yourself. We all have different temptations and earthly circumstances....we don't know enough to truly judge another person or look down upon them.
But don't confuse this with correcting, or "rebuking". Jesus commands us to (respectfully) rebuke others when they sin.
Regarding the judicial system, professional judges aren't judging a person's soul....they are judging whether or not they committed a crime. Even Jesus tells us, as I mentioned, to correct people when the violate the law - both the civil law and the spiritual laws.

It seems that whenever one person confronts another person over an issue, the statement "Do not judge!" comes up. Christians are often accused of "judging" in contradiction to what the Bible says whenever they speak out against a sinful activity. However, that is not the meaning of the Scripture verses which state, "Do not judge." When Jesus told us not to judge (Matthew 7:1), He was telling us not to judge hypocritically. Matthew 7:2-5 declares, "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck out of your eye when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

He's telling us not to criticize other people because none of us are any better than anyone else. We're all pretty much in the same boat and judging others is not our right but God's because He made us and is the Most High. And, being judgmental doesn't help a situation. One ends up being judgmental just for the sake of being judgmental.

Christ's words "Do Not Judge" are more like human's words "Dont Judge A Book By Its Cover" instead of saying that we should not have a judicial system.
He is saying that you shouldnt decide that a person is a certain way because of the way they look/act/sound/etc.
It is not our job. Only Christ knows their true interior. leave the judging to him

Its really simple, he was talking about judging on personal things , we don't have that right
When someone is commiting a sin (as described by God) & we point it out, ITS GOD DOING THE JUDGING
(Leviticus 5:1) 5 “‘Now in case a soul sins in that he has heard public cursing and he is a witness or he has seen it or has come to know of it, if he does not report it, then he must answer for his error.
now there were more then 10 comandments in fact 613 this is one of them

When that phrase was given,it was more than likely referring to someone in the church who seemed to be doing wrong, but was forced by circumstances to appear that way.We should not judge others until we know their story.
As far as judging a true wrongdoer,God has already judged them when He set forth His rules & they are not being obeyed.
Anyone who gets corrected, uses the "judging" thing!Yet God tells us as christians to set unbelievers on the right path & point out their sin to them so they may correct themselves.

In my opinion Christ was admonishing his followers to perfect each one's own "heart" because the challenge presented by Christ in the New Testament is quite a challenge which requires much focus. How can one take up Christ's challenge if one is distracted with the pettiness of criticizing others? That is how I read this. Christ believed in the "law" which is the 10 commandments...

Jesus was referring to those within the body of believers and not those who were non-believers. Only God judges the non-believers. I believe Jesus meant do not judge (condemn) because if we do we will be condemning ourselves. Also, we cannot correctly judge another believer because our knowledge of the facts is limited. We are not spiritually qualified to judge another. The scary part is that to sit in judgment of another believer is to usurp "the judgment seat of Christ." So we need to be very careful to practice self-judgment and practice of golden rule (Matt 7:12).

If you judge people, you will be judged by God. Basically don't express your opinions about people in a negative way. We don't have the power to judge. We were all born sinners

Its so simple! All it means is that basically, don't judge people by how they look, God judges people in the end. You can't tell what a person is like on the inside, by the out.
