All the ideas are helpful, but it doesn't only need to be about boys, and what they wear or don't it needs to be about unwritten rules in general, because I need to be able to write a comedy with the ideas. Thanks !!

I need to make the story funny and at least 800 words, so I need an idea that I could write about for at least 800 words.

People are expected to be potty-trained unless they're really young or really old.

A VIP at my former company went on a tirade about someone wearing a brown shirt. He said white and blue were the only business-like colors. After that, everyone wore a white shirt when he was coming.
A funny comedy might be someone with no sense of appropriate business-like colors, showing up to do PowerPoint presentations in a red shirt.

ummm....there are many situations that society makes up in their minds. a few to write about would be...
1.) do men make GOOD baby sitters, or is it just strictly for the women?
2.) is it ok for women to do normal human bodily functions (ie... farting, burping, ect) while their men are around even if it is not public? (and remember they have to do it to survive just like men do)
3.) a single parent can raise a child, whether it is a man or a women, better then two men or two women. (this one touches on adoption laws and gay marriage)
i really don't believe in these situations either way but i thought that they will be able to help you get your creative juices flowing

Hmm... how about men don't show emotions? I know that one has gotten me into hot water a few times. Or that women are weaker and need to be protected by men. Even though this isn't reality, women generally do look for a man who can take care of them in on way or another. There is also evidence of this stereotype from both men and women if you look at differences in parenting styles regarding male vs female children. Good luck with your story!

Don't ask to finish the food on someone else's plate who is sitting across the aisle on an airplane. This is a lesson I humbly learned as a little girl of six years of age when the man across the aisle didn't finish his little round white potatoes on a flight to Hawaii -- I am STILL made fun of!!
