my fiance is freaking out about our move to the west coast...how to best cool her nerves? I think its the logistics more than the idea or location, but she is really struggling right now.

Tell your fiance:

The logistical problems will be resolved one little step at a time; no need to consider the entirety of the job at any given point.

As for the location: In a year's time from settling in, you'll wonder where the fear went and think how good it feels to be at home.

If it really *is* the logistics and not the location (will she be far from family and friends?), then do your best to hire packers and movers. That will greatly decrease the amount of stress your fiancee has to endure. You could sit down with her and write out a list of everything that has to be done -- that works well for me. The list might seem long and arduous to get through, but it's better to have everything on paper -- and it helps to cross things out when they're done, too! Movers are wonderful. I've moved from CA to Hawaii, then back to CA, then back to Hawaii in the last 7 years. Talk about stress! Having people help us pack and move (even when it was just friends and we 'paid' them in pizza and beer) greatly diminished our stress. Try it.

Try to make her feel assured by telling her that you will be with her and for her there. That is a nice opportunity to start but to continue your relationship. Do some research on the city you guys are moving and find some attractions or things that would interest her to know. Moving can be overwhelming but if you emphasize that this could be a great adventure, she might relax a bit. Good luck! California is beautiful... take her to the nice places.. take her to Las Vegas too!!

Do some of the work then! She's freaking cause there's too much to do and figure out! Figure more of it out, and she'll definately calm down!

Once you get there throw her in the Pacific Ocean. That will cool her down.

Get her really drunk, toss her into the car, and start heading out there when she is not expecting it. Then she'll find accepting the move a lot easier in the long run. ;)

for her it is a huge step into the unknown. just be there and make sure she knows you love her (say it) and above all DON'T laugh at her. be prepared for very large phone bills when you get there.
