If I were you, I would hire an attorney and let him handle things. I would also get him to refer me to a reputable investigator that can find out what she is really up to. There is a reason they were in foster care to begin with and if you get proof she is using drugs, lives with someone who is, has a criminal record or lives with someone who does, you can use it to boost your case against custody being awarded to her.

If she has truly changed, I urge you to at least offer her some visitation. Even if it is supervised. There is something that a mother can offer to children that no father or step mom can. If it is the case that she has her life together, you have to put aside your feelings and think about the fact that everyone screws up. You didn't even know you had kids, so you aren't perfect either. People do make mistakes and can change, so if she has, you have to love your children enough to allow them to see their mother. You have to love them more than you dislike or resent her. Not easy, but that is what loving your kids is about. Doing what is truly best for them no matter how painful it is to you.

Good luck.

first of all if they were in foster care before and you did not know you were the father is one strike against her. not maintaining a relationship with the kids is another. not to worry she has tp prove you as a unfit parent or she needs to show proof that her living aspects for providing for the children is a better environment than what you provide for them.

Talk to your lawyer. Make sure this is well documented. I don't think she has a leg to stand on.
