Not all, but some. I noted that some Christians tend to call atheists arrogant for various reasons, but for anyone to claim that they have the right answer and that anyone else who doesn't believe in their answer is wrong, is, in itself, arrogance, and pride. I was under the assumption that pride was a bad thing in that particular religion. Isn't this extremely hypocritical? Won't that count against you in the after-life? Humility works for both sides. Either side can be wrong here.

Ok, I'll admit there are plenty of arrogant atheists, but why are theists always right? Faith does not mean you know. Belief =/= know. I believe god doesn't exist, but I can never know.

Dude, same reason some Christian's think athiests are arrogant, like you stated. Same reason why every other religion thinks the others religion is arrogant, and blah. It is the individual that is arrogant.

To answer your edit: Me, being a Catholic, I believe that I am right because my roots are so deep in my faith, and I believe with my whole being that there is a God, and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I, however, do not cram my beliefs down another persons throat. And I think maybe that is what you're getting at with the arrogance. Some people are so set in their ways, and so hostile and defensive, that they will go rampant with anyone that thinks differently than they do: this goes for every individual, doesn't matter your religion or faith or lack there of. It's a universal thing.

I've been a Christ follower for only 6 years. During that time I've done a LOT of studying. You could say that I'm only 6 years old (in God's kingdom). I'm still learning... every day. When I think back to the beginning and how I've changed since I'm amazed. But I will humbly tell you this: all along I thought I knew.... I thought that WHAT I knew was enough. The truth is I will never know enough, but I do have the ability to share what I've learned. This does NOT make me a teacher. It is every Christ follower's responsibility to present a case for Jesus and know what we are talking about. We have to be part historian, part disciple and deep in a relationship with God to be able to share what we know. If not, it's just better to keep quiet and BE the message. Do more than asked, be gentle and respectful and admit when we don't know something. Sorry for your experience.

There are arrogant people in all walks of life, even Christianity. I do not need to point out that there are plenty of arrogant Atheists out there too.

All classes can be arrogant, dogmatic, rude, hypocritical, and just plain wrong in things they say or judge people upon, But name one person who does like to be told their wrong, we all get a little frustrated inside, and to not get frustrated is not the goal, the key is to accept criticism and objections towards your belief regardless what it is, doing so will leave you with a open mind, yet doing that is not accepting your wrong or right, but people should look into everything and remove all doubt of things instead of rejecting something without knowing anything about it. I am a Christian and I believe God wants to learn about everything so that we can remove all doubt, and to see what things hold fruit and what things do not. Believe what you wish but always keep a open heart.

King Solomon for example he studied other faiths, and nature yet God did not get on to him for that, God wants people to learn about all things but he does not want you to go astray, Solomon learned about other faiths and nature and the science of life, but he turned from God for a short time and that is when God got onto him. As Christians we need to learn of all things but we also need to know where our feet lead us to and where we stand and that is with God, we need to watch our feet so we do not go away from him with our learning.

Mhm. I know what you mean.

I don't think their belief of Christianity, however, has anything to do with it.

Yes, I admit, there are in fact arrogant Christians. But there are also arrogant atheists, agnostics, Catholics, satanists, etc.

Just remember; the religion does not make the person, the person makes the person.

Every person ever born has hurts and disappointments within their life. Some just lash out because of the pain. It is wrong to treat others this way, but we all sin. Forgiveness is a gift for others and back to ourselves.
