software for office work?

Is there a software or program that can make my work faster? Example i need to type in thousands of product code and product qty everyday using excel. And i will highlight them and sort ascending to find out how many stock is in. Is there a program that can summarise them up so that i can see code A has how many and Code B has how many? since you have all your data in excel now...
sounds like you just need is a pivot table.
