"Saying that there is no such thing as God is the same thing as saying that your mother didnt give birth to you."
What is wrong with this question?
Are the thought police abridging our free speech more and more?
This question, though simple and ill conceived, is not a major offense.

I don't believe in reporting questions except in extreme cases.

Where
1) You're being blatantly racist.
2) You're advocating violence.
3) The content is rude and explicit (Because children might stumble on it).

Besides that, I'm pretty cool with anything you can come up with. Nothing wrong with a vigorous debate. Some people are more sensitive I guess.

Some people are more into following rules made up by others than they are into doing what makes sense. Some people are control freaks, and report anything with which they disagree. I think both types suck.

I think the whole points system, limiting numbers of questions and answers, etc. is all very silly, as is removing questions and/or answers that aren't spam.

What I'd really like is for Yahoo! Answers to be a place where freedom of speech is protected, rather than a place where anyone with a bug up their butt can control the content.

Anyone who's so easily offended should spend their on-line time at sites rated for children under five years old. They'd probably feel right at home.

[Edit]

Who cares if it's not in the form of a question? Is this Jeopardy? Are we not able to respond to a statement? What's wrong with you people?
.

The only thing I can see that's wrong with that question is that it makes no sense. You can see your mother, you live with her for the first 18 years of your life, there are others around who can verify that your mother was pregnant with you and gave birth to you because they SAW it. There are pictures of you and your mother holding you in the hospital when you're hours old, when you get home, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Whereas none of this applied to God, can be shown.

I don't know why this question would be deleted, I've seen a lot worse nonsensical questions on here that didn't get deleted.

What is wrong with that question is that it is not a question. It is a statement of opinion. Nothing wrong with stating an opinion, but according to the rules, you have to ask a question at some point.

I didn't see anything offensive about that question either, but then again, it wasn't actually a question. Yahoo reserves the right to remove anything that is "not a question or an answer". Pretty open-ended, but that's their rule.

Apart from the statement being stupid , it could be viewed as a personal attack since you mentioned someone's mother .

I am wondering if you got this idea from a preacher ? It is the sort of thing they would say to brainwash their followers .

I have seen the least offensive questions deleted. It does not bother me what people ask as long as they are not obscene. Even the rude ones don't bother me that much. What is going on around here?

I think it was a completely idiotic question, but it should not have been deleted. But maybe it wasn;t. Sometimes people delete their own questions when the realize they have worded it wrong or something like that.

there was plenty wrong with the question - but by no stretch of the imagination did it contravene any of the terms of service in any important way.

y!a administrators happily retain queer-bashing, misinformation about scientific studies, and defences of paedophile behaviour. but they delete nonsense like this.

it is outrageous. but what else do you expect of a board run by monkeys?

Perhaps not but maybe ill conceived may have something to do with it.
