Does God love everyone and want to save everyone, even evil people (sinners)? This website I came across http://www.biblelife.org/attributes.htm claims that Jesus hates evil people and loves rightous people (but if humans all sin and God hates sin then he would hate everyone and y would he die for people he hates?) I have some confusion on this. Basically, does God love everyone and want to save everyone, or just some people that he has choosen? Thank you for your time
Please be respectful!

And yet this website quotes John 3:16. Strange.

Yes - God loves everyone.

John 3:16 For God so loved the *world*...

2Peter 3:9 (NLT) The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want *anyone* to perish, so he is giving more time for *everyone* to repent.
(emphasis mine)

Romans 3:23
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Hebrews 9:22
Without the shedding of blood there is no remission
But Jesus' sinless blood paid the price we could not.
Did He love us when He was on the cross?
Look at Luke 23:34.
After they arrested Him, beat Him to a pulp, whipped Him almost to death, then nailed Him to the cross...
Luke 23:34 *THEN* said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

Amazing.

Way back in the garden, at His initial arrest, He indicated he had twelve legions of angels waiting to save Him. Matthew 26:53
One angel killed 185,000 men in one evening. 2Kings 19:35
Twelve legions could have destroyed the world. But He loved us and knew this was His Fathers will - to provide a way back for us - to provide propitiation. So He laid down His life.

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels.

Hallelujah.

I would discount this particular web presence and move on.

God bless.

Even the worst of sinner can be saved. And when that happens, all of heaven rejoices. God is a God of justice and then of love. If you are a sinner and do not repent, He has no choice. Sin = death. He never changes. He is the same 2000 years ago and He is today. Sin leads to death if you don't have Jesus Christ. Christ wants to save everyone. That's why He died on the cross.

No God does not hate anyone. He loves all people and died for everyone's sins. He hates the sin. We are all sinners and not one is righteous but God. I don't know who wrote that or where they got there information but it is wrong. He wishes all to come to know Him and accept Him. There is a big difference in hating the sin and hating the sinner. God tells us to love our enemies. Why would He tell us that if He hated them? He wouldn't.

God loves everyone. He wants all to come to know Him. He would not have sent His son to die just for a few people. God doesn't play favorites.

John 3:16
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It's a good thing that you are researching and questioning. You should not believe everything you read. Always go back to the Bible for clarification.

Hi Jennifer,

Absolutely God loves everyone, and God does absolutely hate sin, so much in fact that He was willing to allow Jesus to die for our sins, including yours.
(John 3:16)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God does want to save everyone, including you. 2Pet 3:9
"The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent."

I believe He is knocking at the door of your heart. Won't you let Him in?

God Bless

In His love,

God loves everyone. He welcomes righteous (good and holy) behaviour and hates evil ( bad or selfish) behaviour. To some degree, we all have the capacity for either.

When Jesus redeemed us and took our sins off of us, He make us righteous in God's eyes. Those who have not yet accepted Jesus have not yet been made righteous.

God loves us all, but He wishes for us to be more obediant and faithful than we sometimes are....

It is really not that much different from loving your very best friend. You do, you wish her no harm, you enjoy her company, but yet, isn't there one habit she has that you do not like?

God loves everyone. God does hate sin but not the sinner. King David committed murder, lust, adultery and others yet he was a man after God's own heart. Yes God calls all to Him but not all will answer and only those who answer and come to know Jesus as their and my savior will be saved.

Jehovah does want everyone to understand that he is the ruler and knows what is best for us. It is our decision he glady lets us make whether we choose to acknowledge that. The verses never stated that Jehovah or Jesus hated evil people-That was the title header. God does hate sin but we are not all sin. Remember we were created in his like-ness and maintain some of those qualities like love. In that neither Jesus or Jehovah hates people that would be ridiculous and pointless. Why would we worship a God who hated us? I wouldn't. Jehovah chooses people based on the condition of their heart, are they searching for him, etc It is not like how people explain God by making people worship him by forcing them to follow his will. It is His choice to chose but it is also yours whether you are in the right condition to be chosen it has two sides. Jehovah loves everyone, from before you were born but that does not mean He will accept you if you are always in direct opposition to Him.
Furthermore I hate little sections like that one because it on;y gives you a narrow view of someone's interpretation, reading the full bible helps you to get a clearer understanding of what it is really stating.

Yes, it is not God's pleasure to punish man. Everyone's name is written in the Book of Life when they are born. It is your chosen life and how God fits into it that determines whether your name remains or is blotted out. The Bible is for guidance into the spiritual things of God. Everyone has a chance. We ultimately choose our eternal destination based on what we do with this man Jesus.

I believe God is love. For that to be so, I believe God must love everyone, and everyone must have the potential to unite with God at death. I believe everyone, even serial killers and sociopaths, reunites with God at death. If there is a place of eternal torment, I believe it is in our own minds and of our own making--it would be the result of not realizing that you are with God.

There's a saying: "Love the sinner; hate the sin."
