Oh yes.. great question. Thanks.
God says BY THEIR FRUITS actions WE WILL KNOW THEM.
There you go.
A person can claim to believe and even convince themself, and study and pray a lot even. Absolutely , that is no proof of salvation, tho when saved, you will do those things. God wants our heart, all of it. Do we love God enough to obey Him, and live as He commands us to live? That shows if one is truly Gods or not. WE cant judge another person, but God will judge them. But God does say we will KNOW who is His and who isnt. God gives the gift of discernment to those that are truly His, and yes we will know. Tho we arent to judge them, but speak to them in love and show them the error of their behavior, just as God commands us to do, but of course to remember to always do it in love, and not to judge, but to restore them back to the lvoe and full truths of God.
I hear so many ppl saying that are Gods, but living in a way that is so totally contrary to Gods word, and claiming grace has it all covered. Those born of God will not ever deliberately sin, 1 John 3:9 makes that real clear.
WE SHOW GOd our truth love and faith, and our trust of Him, by how we live and act and even our thoughts. Do they line up with His word, with how Jesus is, or do they line up contrary to Gods teachings.
One can turn their back on God and deny Jesus by refusing to beieve or obey.
And, even if one never actually puts it into words saying GO AWAY< I DONT NEED YOU>. they can say it in thoughts or actions, showing whether they really are Gods or not.
Absolutely. This message needs to be taught more today.
instead of the itchy ears stuff most churches teach, that grace covers all willful continued sin. Absolutely not. WE no longer do blood atonment for our sins, but we must turn from sin, and we must repent when we have made a mistake and live as God commands us to live. Just like Jesus, unto perfection. WE cant do it on our own, but when we obey God fully as Jesus did, then HE will see us made complete, perfect, to wholeness. Nothing broken, nothing needing to be fixed.
Praise God for your question...
God bless you to overflow.
Happy upcoming New Year....... Passion for Jesus????

Yes, finally someone else with the same question. I asked this about 5 months ago to everyone I talked to, giving example of what they were doing at the time. Then I asked when they were saved and started believing, then what they did, and how they changed. Most people didn't change.
I asked this question to myself first, and I changed pretty much everything I did. Music, games, books, thoughts, movies, etc. I ended up just getting rid of all my games, tv, cable, movies, music, and soon my computer. Well, downgrading. Less chance to do something I don't want to, like games. The only reason I still own a computer: Its the only way I can talk to any of my friends, find news, write things, argue, and quick knowledge. (My closest friend is 3 hours away)

How does one deny god by their actions? I am an atheist that abides by the laws of the society in which I live. I also follow the customs of etiquette, and social order. How do my actions deny god, even though my disbelief is apparent?

This is what the parable of the prodigal son is about; dishonoring your father. Notice that he never stopped being his father's son, just a disobedient one. This is what the chastening rod is used for. When we are disobedient, we miss out on the blessings of our father's house, but we never stop being a member of his household.
When Peter denied (contradicted) the Lord Jesus, did he stop being God's child? No!! His disobedience brought about a chastening that made him weep bitterly. God's children can fall prey to Satan, but we are never his except in deed. Christ Jesus paid for those deeds of the flesh.

Yes, many do.
I think that in a way, it's the same as saying, "I believe in God," when in fact, I don't. I could say, "I think there's a giant squid in the sky that controls everything in the world," but that doesn't mean I believe it.
I admit it. I'm a SINNER. I'm a hateful, filthy, bisexual atheist. Go me. But that's the difference between myself, and some other people: I say something, I live it. Some say things, and live something else.
Personally, I'd just rather go to "Hell" for who I am, than go to "Heaven" for claiming what I'm not.

If you deny your own god, then you do not truly follow them.
