Praying is communication with God. Spend time with Him and you will get to know Him better. Just talk to Him as if He were you're friend. Ask Him to help you with things and to reveal His love and will for you.

Praying is talking to God. You can pray silently or out loud. You can pray with others or alone. You don't have to close your eyes, though doing so might help you focus on what you are doing. Just talk to God. A good place to start is to tell Him that you don't know Him that well, and you aren't used to praying, but that you want to get to know Him and have a relationship with Him.

Praying is communication with God. It's just like talking to your friends and you do it in the same way. Here is a guideline to get you praying...it's called the ACTS prayer.

A-adoration (praising God for who He is)
C-confession (confessing your sins)
T-thanksgiving (thanking Him for things in your life)
S-supplication (making your requests known to Him)

Again, this is just a guideline. There is no particular way to pray and it doesn't have to be formal. But this will get you in some good habits. God always answers our prayers, but sometimes not how we want them. You will definitely draw closer to God if you talk to Him, just like any other friend.

Matt. 6:9-13: “You must pray, then, this way: ‘[1] Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. [2] Let your kingdom come. [3] Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. [4] Give us today our bread for this day; and [5] forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And [6] do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’” (Notice that God’s name and purpose should be given priority.)

Ps. 25:4, 5: “Make me know your own ways, O Jehovah; teach me your own paths. Make me walk in your truth and teach me, for you are my God of salvation.”

Luke 11:13: “If you, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him!”

1 Thess. 5:17, 18: “Pray incessantly. In connection with everything give thanks.”

Praying is your conversation with God. You pray for direction, to ask things of God and when you listen for the answer, you get the direction you seek.

Praying is how you talk to God one on one! We pray to thank, ask, bless, repent, and pour out our heart to the Lord! But praying is so much more than what I can describe, I mean, you are ACTUALLY speaking to God! And He hears every word you say to Him!

How should we pray? Jesus tells us in the book of Matthew chapter 6 verses 9-13 (Matthew 6:9-13):

"This, then, is how you should pray:

'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.' "

Jesus isn't telling us the exact words we should way when we pray, although this prayer is usuable. He's telling us how we should pray.

First we should, in our own way and from the heart, express how awesome God is (e.g. 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name).

Second we should pray for His will to be done in our lives as well as others (e.g. 'Your kingdom come, your will be done')

Third we ask that He will provide for us what we need to do His will (e.g. 'Give us today our daily bread.').

Fourth (if you have sinned) you repent for your sins and ask that he forgive and bless those who have sinned against us.

Fifth we ask for perseverence through sinful temptation and deliverence from Satan.

And lastly, pray in Jesus' name and end your prayer in Jesus' name.

Praying is talking to God...We don't have to just pray a written prayer, but we can actually talk to the Lord...(Like as if you are talking to anyone else....)

Praying is basically talking to God, & trying to establish a perfect relationship with Him.

The biggest thing is be sincere, and empty your mind so you aren't thinking about anything but purely your prayer thoughts. Mentally focus and truely believe that God or whatever you believe in is actually listening to you. Explain clearly and in detail.
