My mom gave my dog some boneless turkey pieces and now he has major gas and keeps farting those silent but smelly farts. Could turkey have given him gas?

He's a one year old English Bulldog.. and it was a small piece like half the size of a hand palm...

According to my vet, dog's can safely eat a small amount of white meat turkey. As long as you do not give the dog, skin, fat, bones or dark meat their should be no residual effect including gas. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I give my small dog a small portion of white meat turkey. She does fine.

Dogs With Gas

Yes, turkey (and many other people foods) will give your dog gas. Turkey fat can really upset a dog's digestive tract especially if he's not used to eating it. Just an FYI too, some people foods can kill or make your dog seriously ill, so you should really avoid feeding him anything but dog food. Hope he's feeling better soon!

Considering the fact that turkey gives HUMANS gas, I'm guessing it'll give dogs gas. But it's not bad for dogs. It's actually quite good for them if there isn't too much salt in it.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8wW

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Yes, Yes!!

My cocker named Missy was allergic to turkey, she suffered severe gas with bloating; got her to the vet who told us many dogs cannot eat turkey, instructed to never give her this "meat" again, to switch to chicken. She improved soon and had no furthur episodes.

Dogs don't digest people food very well if they aren't used to it, so yes, it can give them gas. Also make them a little sleepy ;)

Yes, it does with my dogs (pomeranians). It seems like any human food they eat out of the ordinary, especially met gives them gas.
