Im in quite a dilemma here. Since i recently got re-hired for a job, i am in training now and the schedule is coarse and strict. I have to work this saturday (since we had Xmas off) and be off Sunday, then I have to work again MONDAY (New year eve) then have new year day off. Real screwed up.

I am thinking to just call sick for monday, new year eve, to connect the 3 days so i can make a 3 hour trip to Miami so i can ring in the new year.

Will i get canned if i do this (it will be pretty unbelieveable to them that i got sick on monday!)? Should i do this? Since i am a rehire, i know the job very damn well and i dont care if i get an "occurence" or whatever..

Do you want the job?. Consider this. You are a rehire, and you may be on a probation period again. You are in training, so it may not be a good idea to cut out at this time.

You will have to judge just how bad you want this job. I assume you do want it, since you are going back for a second dose of it. So, if you care about it, then just hang in there and party when you get off work.

good luck, and Happy New Year, whichever way you go.

If you don't care if you get an occurence or fired, go ahead. If you want to keep your job, I would not take off. You do have off New Year's Day so you could go out New Year's Eve @ least.

Uhhh... Gee, Mr. Responsible, since you're a rehire, do you think it would be smart to screw this up the second time around? Let's see... job, or NYE party? Hmmm... job (which lasts MORE than one night), or party (which comes EVERY YEAR ON THE SAME DATE). Figure it out, Einstein.

If you don't care about your job or your income, then take the day off. I hope you have another job to go to in the New Year.

Just ask yoiurself the question....do you, or don't you, want the job?

If you don't, then take off....because since you're a re-hire, you could lose it if you fall into that trap again...
