When you drink the cheap stuff (ie: Budweiser, Coors, etc), it's because you want a cheap buzz. For those who spend money on the good stuff, it's because they like the taste.

I don't understand this "beer is an aquired taste" argument. Beer is no more an aquired taste than pizza rolls, reality TV, or any other choice an individual may make in their life.

Why do people like beer? Because they do. It's such an ambiguous question given the broad range of both people and beers on the planet. Beer has and always probably will be my drink of choice.

A better question in my opinion is why do people like disgusting and flavorless beer? To that I say they have no taste and they are blinded by brand loyalty. Beer can be delicious but beers like Budweiser, Corona, Coors, and any number of watered down macro lagers are essentially loaves of wonderbread in a world fresh baked rye and sourdough.

Beer is definitely an acquired taste, but combined with spicy chicken wings, nachos, and a great football or basketball game there's no going back! Beer is the only beverage of choice!

In a good beer, you can taste the barley, hops and the malts. It;s better than a bowl of cornflakes.

It might have something to do with the mind numbing effects of alcohol. Otherwise, beer is the poo-poo, doo-doo of so many yeasts, all stewing in warm water. Kind of like the kiddy pool at the local swimmin' hole.
